I'm a big fan of wolves in magic. This guy is like a poor man's Great Sable Stag, sure he won't do well in creature combat (unaided) but at least he can't be bolted or destroyed with targeted removal. This will be a fun card for those casual decks that like to run creature enchantments. A nice common for the casual magic player.

This guy is begging to be equipped or enchanted with some totem armor/eldrazi con***ion.

Not as good as Troll Ascetic (duh), but it's still good and I'll be happy to put Totem Armors on it. Boar Umbra may finally have a home.

This + Shiv's Embrace won me so many games at a midnight prerelease. This card is amazing in limited, may even see some play in constructed with a totem armor or equipment deck.

@dudecow: Boar Umbra already has a home; its name is Aura Gnarlid.

I never played Mist Leopard; why would you run a below curve creature in green that for four mana would still die if it blocked a grizzly bear? This card, while just as likely to die to a bear, is cheaper (a huge difference in this case) and has troll-shroud instead of shroud. Very happy to play this in limited and would be pleased if it found a home in standard. With the return of Mirrodin and equipment, as well as with totem armor auras, it might just be played (probably as a two-of, I'd say). Remember, Path and Obliv Ring are gonna be gone in three months.

This thing is gorgeous! I am referring both to the art and the card. Troll shroud is great, especially on a fairly cheap creature. Most of the time you don't need to target your bigger creatures for them to do well, so they might as well have full shroud. This guy, however, is a great aura target. You can play these with umbras for zero card disadvantage, which is a great thing. I love all the steps Wizards is taking to make beneficial creature auras playable, because I've always been a big fan of them.

This guy might not be Troll Ascetic, but... Nothing is. That was one cussing great creature. It's perfectly alright if we don't have every creature at that level.

<3 wolves :D

And I also love cards that make me want to use auras (especially totems). The biggest problem with totems for me is actually bounce, and this guy fixes it admirably.

Savage Silhouette Basically turns him into an uber Troll Ascetic, and you only need to spend $1.60 (Australian) for a playset of both, rather than a hefty $28 for 4 trolls.

The art work, the playability, awesome. While keeping up with the pre-release information I found myself waiting for this card more than most of the more expensive cards. Of course the toughness is a draw back, but mostly every card has it's draw backs that people will complain about. For a common, this card is near perfect. A great card ! Thanks Magic !!

I like the approach of troll shroud for green lately. It fits the flavor of creatures (especially wolves...) being receptive to man's "touch" if it doesn't feel threatened IE: it's summoner blessing tit with enchantments but the opponent not being able to manipulate it. Although... i COULD put a quag sickness on my own wolf but maybe he is very loyal :P

It's a more versatile Pincher Beetles. Having troll-shroud certainly expands the strategic value of the card.

I'd like it to be a 3/2, but it's still a great card. The psudo-shroud gives it that predatory feel wolves need.

Although it might not have the broken abilities of the Troll Ascetic, you can't deny that it is such an amazing looking wolf. And it's sacred. Go wolf!

Two cards attached to this and it's the second most dangerous creature I know for early-(ish) game.

Turn four: this with Hyena umbra, spider umbra.

After that, it just keeps getting nastier. It will rip apart just about any red-white deck if you can pull it off.

Oh yeah, he's a wolf. And you're not touching him.

I bet half the reason why it's called "troll shroud" is cause you're trolling your opponents when you play cards like this.
Oh Look, I bet you would love to Bolt this right now! What's that? I'm enchanting it? With an ENCHANTMENT? What are you gonna do in response? Oh wait! HA HA HA

I like that it doesn't cost two green like Troll Ascetic. If you are going to abuse that ability with auras, you may as well expand into the other colors. Play it with Slippery Bogle so it has a friend to enchant.

M12 introduces a new name for this ability: Hexproof. Previously trollshroud, as seen on cards such as Troll Ascetic.

I love this card so much because it reminds me of Amaterasu from Okami. ^.^

Viridian Claw is a nice little equipment for this wolf.
