A land from Legends that has a mana ability? NEVER!!!

Why is this rated so low? 9 times out of 10 it's as good as a Mountain, and the ability isn't completely useless. Yes, it's legendary, and yes it doesn't count for stuff that cares about land type, but still, lands like this usually come into play tapped.
Another thing I would worry about is that non-basic land hate tends to do more damage, but that shouldn't be much of a concern.

Oh no, a hoser for an ability printed on: three cards!!! (Okay, maybe I'm exaggerating, I am planning to build a landwalk deck that turns other lands into a whole bunch of other types) but I honestly love landwalk but I think it is way too narrow to be of much use other than a sideboard...but it's better than Islandhome!!!

Yes, true, but not many decks are built around that sort of thing. And if your deck DOES have those cards, yeah, don't use it. But that's the same sort of thing as, say, not using big fatties in a weenie deck. Or similar.
Also, sunburst counts the color of mana used to pay for something, it doesn't care about the basic lands you have out. This would work just as well in a sunburst deck as a mountain.
In the vast majority of decks, it's not worse than a mountain at all.

All we need is a dwarf with a hammer. You got it? It's Hammerheim!

The benefit of Hammerheim's special ability pales in comparison to being able to obtain an extra mana from having Gauntlet of Power in play, or any sort of card that utilizes basic lands as a basis for determining power (i.e., cards with domain or sunburst, or Barrel Down Sokenzan , Ben-Ben, Akki Hermit , Fire Dragon, Goblin Charbelcher, Rockslide Ambush, Seismic Strike, Spire Barrage, Spitting Earth).

DID YOU DESIGN THIS AS AN M. C. HAMMER PUN
DID YOU
YOU OUGHT TO BE ASHAMED
Basic Mountains, on the other hand, get tons of support.
