This card cost quite a big amount of mana, but in a big multiplayer game this card is really funny, I would even say... tasty. Unplayable (well, competitively), yet really vorthos in it's way.
A 3 star and a half.

For 9 mana, you should be able to throw that damage anywhere you want. Should be able to direct that to a player, dang. He doesn't even have haste.

This is ridiculous. RedRedRed means that you play this only in mono red deck. So you get to deal 9 damage to a single creature. How often are you facing Thing from the Deep?

Or as this is from the same set, it's clearly a Thing from the Deep killer.

What's the best thing about this card?

Is it the fact it's a big dragon that comes with a Spitting Earth? Okay, this is pretty cool, so we're getting it out of the way. Considering he's nine mana, and can only target creatures, it's going to be an excessively large Spitting Earth... but targeted removal is nothing to ignore. Still, why couldn't it have been a Jaws of Stone effect? Bogardan Hellkite did that right. And why couldn't it have at least nailed your opponent? Regardless, it's a nice little ability.

Is it the fact that... hold on, the fire's coming out of it's tail?! What the Hell is that? Big-ass dragon with an open mouth, and it's decided he should be shooting fire out of his tail? Who is responsible for this? Why does he have a Volcano Hellion grafted to his ass?

Is it the... okay, wait. "Fire Dragon"? Seriously? What are you, six? You had to resort to the most boring, generic, run-of-the-mill name possible for a dragon that comes with a 9+ point fireball? Why not print "Dead Zombie" while you're at it, too? The worst part may be that while this card was given the most generic dragon name possible - something I would have understood on the original Shivan, but no, even then they got it right - yet at the same time they decided to totally pull one from left field and give it a nonconformist firebreathing ass.

Is it the... you know what? No. The more I talk about this card, the angrier I get. It got a free ride just because it's from Portal and thus more obscure.

Screw this guy. He's not necessarily bad, but... screw him.
