I love this land, more than Teetering Peeks in the right deck.
In a standard RDW Teetering Peeks is going to be better because everything has trample, but if you are trying to go standard goblins this thing is an all star.
Turn 1 Goblin Guide, swing for 2. Opponent at 18. Turn 2 Warren Instigator swing for 2. Opponent at 16. Turn 3 Smoldering Spires to stop their blocker, kick a Goblin Bushwhacker. Swing for 9. Play a Siege-Gang Commander and Goblin Chieftain for free. Opponent at 7. Turn 4 play anything, or don't. Doesn't matter because you are swinging for 20 this turn. Opponent is dead.
Goblins can be just as fast as RDW in standard now. Smoldering Spires makes up for the fact that Warren Instigator is a turn slower than Goblin Lackey. Watch out.

@Plum
Great ideas but that is like a perfect case scenario where you're assuming that whoever your playing will never have a better creature out than you, or will never play a destr. or counter spell. But nonetheless, obviously you have some talent at MTG, half the people that play can't even plan ahead two turns.
Overall, this land is decent, can really give you the upper hand early on in the game, and can prevent your opponents big hitters from blocking for that final game winning swing.

"So you're tapped out with 6 life and all you have is a Wall of Omens? In that case, your Wall can't block this turn, and my Ball Lightning says GG."
Fun in SB. Not sure about main in most decks.

Once used this in a tournament to make Emrakul unable to block and swung for the win. I will never be able to take these 4 out of my mono red deck now ^^.

@ Kidromeo: No, I think Arid Mesa is strictly for mountains and plains

Ty!
Anybody knows, if I can I use Smoldering Spires to keep Phyrexian Crusader from blocking? I mean it is a red card, right?
