dont know what it is about it but i love this card. have me two of em. 1 regular 1 foil. not that i care bout foils since they are just a cheap gimick for collectors but well hey im not complaining. id rather have 2 of these than just 1. i just wish that it would return cards to your hand but i guess that would make it broken.
Advantages of this: - Cheaper activation cost - Not legendary, so doesn't die to an opponent playing their own - Doesn't require using a land slot for something that produces colorless mana - Can use this more than once per turn without needing a way to untap things
Advantages of Volrath's Stronghold: - Doesn't cost anything to play, so the first activation is cheaper - Uncounterable - Also can produce mana - Enchantments are generally easier to remove than lands
I would generally go with the Stronghold given the choice, but this is still pretty good.

Obviously pretty handy against mill, too.
