Potential 9-10th beater for aggressive workshop decks

Seems pretty good to me. Zk3 is right on.

Does this mean he's effectively a 5/5 with Haste if Metalcraft is in effect, or comes into effect on the turn he enters play?

-I Path to Exile your Rusted Relics
-*sacrifices all other artifacts* Illegal target, sorry.

In the right deck, you have more than ennough time to get at least 2 artifacts in play before having the mana to play him. So, I guess that's not a bad card.

Even if it's just a useless lump without having 2 other Artifacts on the field, {4} for a 5/5 is a great deal.

@ BlaveFlopata

Nope, it doesn't work that way. Summoning sickness looks at whether permanent was here at your upkeep, and not at whether it came into play as a creature. So he won't be able to attack on turn he came into play.
Still, he's one big golem, and metalcraft isn't too hard to activate.

4 COLORLESS for a 5/5 (as long as you can play right.)

I don't like this guy in draft anymore... Too easy to shit it down with a Blight Mamba, Wall of Tanglecord or instant-speed artifact disruption.

The game really is to the point that a generic 5/5 for 4 just isn't all that valuable anymore...

{4} for a 5/5, as an uncommon too! Also i think Precursor Golem may have some synergy with this card depending on what sorcery and instant spells are released in the upcoming sets...Shape Anew, anyone?

With the introduction of living weapon mechanic in Mirrodin Besieged, the stocks of cards such as Rusted Relic see pretty serious increase in my eyes.

Bosh, Iron Golem , what has time done to you?

Okay, very strange question here. If I have two artifacts, and play Rusted Relic, it enters the battlefield as an artifact, but becomes an artifact creature directly thereafter. Can it tap and attack on the first turn?

Surprisingly effective. Throw him down, let your opponents forget about him, counts towards his own metal-craft. I run him in a Jor Kadeen EDH deck and thanks to artifact lands he's pretty much always a 5/5 for 4, and gets beefed up by not only Jor but Tempered Steel as well. Very solid card and I'm never disappointed to draw this guy.

Question: if you mind control him, and you don't have metalcraft, will the enchantment fall off, and will he go back to the original owner?

Yes, he would become an illegal target and then he goes back to its original controller.

This card would be amazing if only Wizards would start making broken 0 and 1 cc artifact mana producers, or maybe some lands that double as artifacts. Until then, it sucks.

Wow, I think this guy is rated lower than he needs to be. By turn 4, you should always have at least 2 artifacts out in any self-respecting Metalcraft deck. So naturally, you're going to get a 5/5 for {4}, which as others have pointed out is a really good deal.

Also, I can see a bizarre sacrifice combo to deactivate Metalcraft in time to save him, or flickering your own creatures or something.

So once this guy is active as a creature he can be targeted with populate spells. Now if you manage to drop below three artifacts but have a token copy of him out what happens to the token? Does it transfer back into the original state aswell?

f you're running an artifact deck then this is a fairly good creature, even better than Chrome Steed in artifact. Otherwise it's basically just taking up space where a potential more useful card could be.
