Yeah, contradicting the flavor text, this thing is pretty defenseless wherever it may be. I don't think that vanilla 2/1 blue creatures have ever been useful or wanted by anyone; The only thing this has going for it is being a Merfolk, and even that has it's limits.

why complain about this card in particular? forget everything else, this is a power=cost 2 drop for a color not known for aggressive creatures, or even efficient creatures. Keeping in mind what the color is known to do, this card is a useful 2 drop to clock while controlling the board and their spells. not great, but certainly not a disgrace. 2/5

Vanilla creature, made playable because it is a Merfolk. There are far worse 2 drops out there... but many better ones as well.
