A n all around good spell in my opinion. There - now try killing me without your main cheap soldiers.

This card is cruel and evil; I love it already.

Playing blue/black you can combine this with tome scour, traumatize and Jace Beleran for some annoying fun.

This card = Deck rape.

This is one of the better cards in the set for black, and I actually like it.

This card might as well read "If target opponent has five or more nonland cards in his or her graveyard, that player loses the game.".Seriously: most of the time you resolve this, opponents wll just scoop. I'm so glad to see it's back (but I can't say I like the new art). Haunting Echoes - Deliciously Evil! 5/5

The most evil thing about this card is that it's more deadly against combo decks and decks that have a lot of duplicate cards. It's not very effective against your ultra-casual player who has one or two at most of the same cards in his deck.

It also rapes sets of nonbasic lands, if you can manage to get one into the graveyard.

Traumatize then this = 'Hey, where did you put your deck?" :)

Okay, this card is unfair. I play mostly with a budget blue deck consisting of multiples of common creatures and spells with the occasional big one hiding in the wings. This card messes me over big time and the person who uses it has 2. I actually restructured my deck with Traumatize and Tome Scour just to kill this card before it can mess me up.

Cant believe I haven't heard of this card until now. Thank you gatherer. Nice in a discard deck. Can be countered, while Extirpate can't, however, its super-sized. Wicked end game potential.

Graveyard mass effect version of Thought Hemorrage but watch out for Swerves and counter spells that ruin your plan.

This card is THE card, I love blue black decks, with blue I got infinite power over other colors, thelephaty let me decide what to do, if cast my spells or wait untill a better moment, I can predict what my oponent is gonna do, only who is carefull with his or her spells can do something aganist a blue deck and have more chances to win. Mind control, clone, dijin of wishes, morphling, clockworck dragon, day of the dragons, spelbook combinated with brine Seer, Thran lens so I can destroy black creatures with doom blade, Dragon Blood and now this card, Haunting Echoes, wow, its a fun deck, this card is powerfull, I like it :)...

Note: gold rule for blue, have enought creatures to defend yourself and dont counter if you can deal with it, surprise your oponents

Awesome card. So long as they have 1 nonland card in their graveyard you get to look through their entire deck.
Cue 5 minutes wasted.

I recently had the pleasure of playing this card against an opponent playing a white/blue mill deck. The taste of his own medicine made him scoop. Awesome card.

I once went up against this card in current t2, control(WRUB+me) vs control(5 color+opponent).
I had a jar-jar on the field and he had nothing i was going to win next turn(he at 7 and i have a burst lightning in hand). I attacked to bring him to 7 and on his turn he plays DoJ and this card, removing my sphinxes BUT i had not drawn one bolt yet so i still had 4 bolts and 3 bursts in my deck. He is tapped out and it comes to my turn. I topdeck a bolt and send them both to his face ftw >:D

this card is a killer though, very nice.

The most ridiculous part of this card is that it exiles land cards too. Resolving this after a Traumatize (or sometimes even a Mind Funeral) is a flat out murder unless you're playing against EDH/singleton decks.

As i understand it, this card is a mill card that kills dredge at the same time.
Because it exiles the cards instead of just putting them in the yard.

It is one of those milling cards that are strong enough to stand alone in otherwise milling-less deck, where they can serve as alt-wincon. The others are cards like Millstone, Grindstone and Keening stone.

This card doesn't really need a mill deck to function, i might say that B discard or BW / BWU control would suit this card much better. i mean, following a Wrath of god with this card = GG

I will have to leave this card with 5/5 stars, for not being to good. but still good, and quite fun ^^

It's useless against a lot of decks, until it's not. You can be in a decent spot in the game, and then suddenly you find yourself without any wincons from this card you weren't expecting.

I'd still usually run Eradicate before it though, as Eradicate doesn't come with card disadvantage* attached.

*Card disadvantage obviously means nothing if you cripple your opponent in such a way that they can't win. :-P

Mesmeric Orb may be quite fun with this. I have a "bounce" deck that is {B}/{U} due to Dimir Guildmage, Warped Devotion, and such.

Eventually the card advantage/tempo weighs well in my advantage and something like this may be a way to "seal the deal".
