I want to like this card, I really do. The art is incredible, and I love the concept mechanically. Nevertheless, this card just sucks. Subtract the Pacifism from Pillory of the Sleepless and you get a card that should cost Black, not 2Black. Contaminated Bond only cost 1Black and it was better, as it could at least act as soft removal.

To be fair, it's possible this effect is better than I'm giving it credit. I know how demoralizing Pillory of the Sleepless could be, and if the enchanted creature manages to stick around for three or four turns, that’s not a bad deal for three mana. It still seems overcosted and underpowered though.

Wanderlust in black, except it can't be CoP'd.

Cost too much, auras need to be very mana efficient to make up for the card disadvantage

@outlaw: That only applies to auras that you put on your own creatures. Because to get rid of this, they'd have to use removal on their own creature, granting card advantage.

The card itself isn't good enough for it mana cost, but that's not why.

Reminds me of another innuendo saturated enchantment, Earthbind....

@Splenivore

Pillory of the Sleepless is a gold card, requireing two colors to play. Gold cards tend to get a 'Gold Discount', having a casting cost 1 or 2 less then they would get if they were a monocolored card (3 or more for gold cards with more then 2 colors). You should have taken that discount into account when using the Pillory as a basis to identify the propper cost for this card.
In other words, B would be too low a cost. 1B would be a better cost.

Hahaha, now you've only got 20 turns to win!

I'll give this card a 2, but only because I was once killed by it. Sure that was due mostly to my lousy draws, but still; having my Steel Golem enchanted with this and Curse of Chains was depressing.

Haha she said she'd give anything for that hourglass figure. Seriously though a pretty terrible card. {2}{B} to put your opponent on a 20 turn clock, and that's assuming they've got a targettable creature in play that isn't going anywhere anytime soon? At sorcery speed too? Not to mention if your opponent sacrifices the creature for an added affect (say, to Culling Dais) you each lose a card...

Anyone who comments about "auras need to cost less because of card disadvantage" on auras that aren't for boosting creatures need to stop being parrots. The only time this is card disadvantage is if they destroy their creature in response to this, in which case, congrats, you just got to destroy a creature for 2Black. And if not, well it's not a great card for sure, but complaining about card disadvantage is just stupid.

Strictly worse than Stab Wound.
