mill-control runs a full set of negate. These are hugely useful sideboard against red/green aggro, bloodbraid elf and the like.

pretty much an instant 3 or 4 in any sideboard I make that has any blue in it.

Like deathmark, it sends things to the graveyard. Like Celestial Purge, it targets just about anything. Unlike either, it removes the spell before it even touches the battlefield...

Great sideboard card for blue.

Worth it given the fact that most of the dominating Standard decks these days are red or have red in them. Combine this with Celestial Purge if you happen to be running white as well and you can pretty much lock down any red deck.

wow is this the state of counterspells? imagine if removal cards were colour limited, there would be an uproar.

Great Sideboard Card

Sideboard card for sure. Against a red and/or green deck it is better than the standard Cancel. Any blue deck should have 4 of these in a sideboard.

What is Deathmark if not removal, and not color limited?
Try to remember that this is just part of the M10 cycle trying to show new players which colors are enemies. Look to Cancel, Negate, and Essence Scatter to get a feel for the state of counterspells.
Great card against red/green as has already been said. Sideboard obviosly, again as has already been said.

Great for dealing with Bloodbraid, pretty much any dragon, annoying green regenerators, green critters with infect (putrefax?) and the like. During Alara's spot in standard, the color hosing spells must have been great against multicolor creatures.

Is it me, or is that symbol on his head REALLY familiar? I can't put my finger on it, though. Hmm... It's CLOSE to the symbol for TES IV: Oblivion, but I don't think that what I'm thinking of.
