Say what? Sure, haste may not be as impressive as shroud or first strike, but a 3/2 two-drop with haste (activated with something as simple as a Borderpost) is deadly.

its a bit hard for the opponent to come back from a first turn borderpost, 2nd turn hackblade for 3, against an alara block b/r deck. in my opinion its the second best blade next to the first strike one.

I like this guy. They work well in pairs. ;)

I would have to agree that this is among the worst of the blades. The flying and deathtouch one remain useful for the entire game in many situations, and even the first strike one can hold off low toughness high power creatures like a champ. This one though is really only great on turn 2, and if you're using anything but boulerposts as your multi-lands (like the 3-color shards ones), he's gonna just be a 2/1 for 2 at that point, and after turn 2 just a 3/2 body with nothing special about it.

But what happens if you cast multiple hackblades in one turn?, they'll all gain haste and will be 3/2!

Sure, not as impressive as Bant Sureblade, per se, but a 3/2 haste for 2CC isn't bad at all.

This is a really good addition to a speedy weenie burn deck especially if you're running 4 and Veinfire Borderposts.

Not a bad card, since you only need another multicoloured permiant.

I would say that haste is the least effective of the blades abilities if only because haste is only useful once and after its used its just an obsolete keyword, as in if you don't attack on the turn it comes into play it's the same as it not having haste. On the other hand, there's a really really obvious strategy here.. and that's bloodbraid elf. Bloodbraid elf is also a 3/2 haste that can cascade into anything 3 mana and under, enabling a cascade directly into your jund hackblade for two 3/2 hasters for 4 mana. If you have the mana to attach a runes of the deus, or fists of the demi god, your hackblade can also become a 5/4 first strike wither haste creature. Dropping that much power on the field for 6 mana is pretty epic.
If you compare to watchwolf however, as long as you have something else thats multicolored you have a 2 mana 3/2 haster, where as watch wolf is equivalently 3/3 with no abilities, so it's at least on par.

why Veinfire Borderposts? i would cast a one-drop multi-coloured goblin like boros recruit, scuzzback scrapper, stream hopper or tattermunge maniac. Otherwise you wouldn't fully be taking advantage of this creatures speed which was what it was designed for. Its NOT the worst blade cause its great for aggro decks built with speed in mind.

All the blades are great, but I probably like this one the least since haste is worthless on it unless you dropped a multicolored card on turn 1.

Bit blast, cascade into bloodbraid, cascade into violent outburst, cascade into this. With another bloodbraid and hackblade already in play, that's usually game, because I just bit blasted my opponent's last creature

worst blade there is. i'd choose shroud, deathtouch, firt stirke or flying over this any day
Seriously though, it's a 2/1 for 2 or a 3/2 for 2, both of which are on the positive side of the suckyness scale. Especially since that 2/1 is still able to become a 3/2 at any time.

if you can get a knight of new alara out after a few of these small drops they become relevant again

The Bant Sureblade learned the same lesson these knights are learning now.

Great way to start a modern game.
Forest. Tap it for green mana. Use it to cast:
Tinder Wall. Sac immediately for 2 red mana. Use that to cast:
Burning-Tree Emissary. Use her free mana to cast:
Jund Hackblade.
Congratulations! You now have a 3/2 creature that you can attack with on the very first turn.
