The power level is unholy. Mox for TWO mana, colourless or not, is terrifying. With the right starting hand, there won't be a next upkeep for this to trigger.

This is a must for any vintage deck plain and simple.

I swear to you all I was freaking out, and I mean I was literally TRIPPING, when I pulled this card out of a Zendikar pack last week! I seriously felt that god had graced me, and SOMEHOW, JUST SOMEHOW, wherever they package or make MTG packs, that a Mana Crypt accidentally slipped into my pack :D. As if the machine that puts cards into the packs had a Mana Crypt stuck in it for fifteen years, and that it coincidentally slipped out and into a Zendikar pack that I happened to buy. I felt so extremely excited and ecstatic, I was overpowered by nostalgia and truly, it was, I believe to be the most magnificent moment in my history of playing Magic. Thank you so much Wizards! . . . I soon found out that they were doing this on purpose, and I have to say I applaud you guys out there at R&D or whoever decided to put these cards into the new packs. And as a bonus card, nonetheless! I was so excited to get this card because I started playing Magic when I was about eight years old, in 1995, and I had a lots of cards that accumulated over the years. I played until I was about fifteen years old, when I got a girlfriend, and was with her for a good four years. During that time my life was pretty much just HER, and unfortunately, she wasn't much into MTG. So I gave my little brother all my cards that I'd collected over the years and hoped he would gain interest. . . . . Oh I was FURIOUS, when I found out that he had traded all of them for a piece of junk, old, rusty, and seriously crummy skateboard. The kid screwed my brother and of course I was mad! Fast forward to today, I have been trying to reestablish my collection and I don't have very many classic cards. Pulling Mana Crypt was really a very special moment for me, and only boosted my love for Magic even more. Thank you Wizards, and long live MTG!

Simply an amazing card. A must have for any deck that can run it, and better than any Mox in my opinion.

Megrimage knows the combo.

I got mine about 5 or 6 years ago when my grandfather bought me a box of, "Those cards I like to play" from an auction for dirt cheap. It had some other great stuff in it to, like a Grindstone. :)

BTW: Anyone know why Mark Tedin (great artist) thinks that mana looks like raw hamburger?

LMAO... just get a coin with the both sides heads, or tails, and you'll never lose life :P

Two headed coin for the win.

Actually a two-sided coin would be terrible. The OPPONENT calls the flip. If/when they figure it out, you'll ALWAYS lose the 3 health.

I love how this thing can net you such a ridiculous amount of mana on turn one, far beyond the scope of any Mox, and yet it goes for roughly a third the price of any of the Moxen. I guess the name stops people from realizing that this is the sixth Mox.

When I was younger, the Moxen were the "ultimate cards I will have to buy someday". Now that I've played a while it's this guy and a Moat.

The best coin-flip card, the best promo card, and, arguably, the best mana artifact.
Yeah, I'd prefer to draw this than Black Lotus. YOU WANNA FIGHT ABOUT IT?

This is an insanely good bargain of a card for Vintage Power-
you can get one on eBay for ~$50 right now.

It can add some round-1 power to any Vintage deck,
and if you thought Sol Ring made a great Tinker target,
meet an even better one.

PS- I sprang for the Promo Foil, and OMG, it is gorgeous.

Meet the card we all treasure. This card is so well-loved, it's been made legal in Commander despite being banned in Legacy. (Normally, cards banned in Legacy are banned in Commander; this is one of a few exceptions.)

I think every Vintage player owns one of these. Crypt is a must have for Mishra's Workshop decks, because Mana Crypt + land = first-turn Metalworker. This card sees more T1 play than Mox Ruby and Mox Pearl.

This thing is insane, as any vintage player knows, the chance of three damage on subsequent turns (If they happen) is hardly a drawback for two free mana. They might as well have called this the colorless mox, that's what it is.

This would still be stupidly broken if artifacts weren't the cards that win you games anyway.

"Heads I win, Tails I lose" versus Red. I like that. :)

I wish it just did the damage. I hate flipping coins. People always steal my coins.

Also this card is very rare. I think its amazingly underpriced. I will have to invest in a set. Its much more fun than any mox, and actually more powerful, while not being strictly better than a land like moxen. I like this. I wish all moxen were like this.

Who would rate this below a 5/5. Not only is it better than a mox, but the walls of the crypt look bouncy.

Almost strictly better than Sol Ring.

You heard me. There is a card. Thats strictly better. Than SOL RING. WTF.

Back in the day, Wizards use to print cards with "drawbacks" that didn't matter because they were so horrifically overpowered that your opponent would be dead long before the drawback would be even close to mattering. Exhibit A: Mana Crypt.

Pay 2 Win.
I wouldn't give a shlt but they brought this broken trash online. Good luck competing in older formats without shelling out at least 100+ bucks for all these vintage staples. And you wont even begin to cover lands with that low of a budget.

To many tryhard spikes infesting the just for fun room.

Even better than Black Lotus in my honest opinion.

Now hear me out, this guy interacts with Hurkyl's shenanigans, is a target for Tinker and even stays the next turn in case you want to be doing something in addition to attacking with Blightsteel. Took time and blood to get my hands on two of these since my group discourages buying online and I still treasure them as my babies (don't tell my kids).

Be glad that mana this fast has been out of Standard for a very long time.

Otherwise... Turn one Thragtusk FTW. And follow that by turn two Wurmcoil?

Totally broken. Taking up to 12 damage on the first turn is well worth casting a first turn Ulamog's Crusher, Platinum Emperion or even (dare I say) Alladin's Ring?
