This is probably the best pitch card, barring Force of Will, of course. Even losing two cards, you can still get decent card/board advantage out of this. Fireblast is probably better for straight-up burn, though.

I disagree that this is the 2nd best "pitch" spell. Contagion is. Contagion puts permanent counters on the creature(s), allowing you to kill/weaken up to 2 creatures. This spell would have been much better if it could target players, too. It could have even been lowered to 3 damage as long as you weren't forced to target creatures. As it stands, it's the worst pitch card along with Bounty of the Hunt.

Simply awesome. I use three to four of these in my main. Beats Contagion and Bounty of the Hunt. What was the white pitch again?
there seems to be a great deal of disagreement on the 'Pitch' cards.
1. Force of WIll is the best. Im glad everyone agrees on that.
2. Foil is a bad Force of Will. Of course, freaking COUNTERSPELL, DAZE, and DISPEL are also bad Force of Wills, but STILL. It causes you to pitch 2 cards instead of one, meaning you better be countering something deadly, or your down c.a. using a Blue Counterspell for free. that's a bad place to be.
3. I looked up the rest of Force of Will's cycle today, and I would rank them as 2 ties, for 2nd and 3rd place. Contagion you can maindeck in a deck without Dark Ritual and risk pretending it doesn't have the free-spell rider. Maybe. But Pyrokinesis can kill more things if they're small, or one bigger thing than Contagion. That's why I give them the tie. Scars of the Veteran is a much needed decent rare port of Healing Salve- doing the same thing, only actually good enough to matter. Can save you from 2 or even 3 burn spells in a pinch. Bounty of the Beast sucks compared to the other options green has BUT it's probably better than most non-green creature-based spells. But it still is actually worse than Giant Growth, which for what was supposed to be a bomb rare is really sad.
4. BACK TO PYROKINESIS- 4x this and 4x Fireblast is the beginning of a very nice Suicide Red Deck Wins. 5/5 stars. (its hard to rate old cards properly. this IS worth 5 stars, other cards like Force of Will or Black Lotus are worth more like 7 or 8)

The sparkly spiraly thing looks like it came straight from Rainbow Brite.
I personally find Contagion to be inferior to this. As a red player, I want creatures dead when I cast a spell, especially when I have to use two cards for it.
What Contagion can kill: -two X/1s -a X/2
What Pyrokinesis can kill: -four X/1s -two X/1s and a X/2 -two X/2s -a X/1 and a X/3 -an X/4
If you ask me, the Pyrokinesis seems to do more for me than Contagion would. The only thing that's missing from this is being able to target players, but this card is already super versatile that if it had those two extra words it would make it a highly sought after card for all red players. Not to mention it would be another "4 damage for free" spell and Fireblast is already an amazing finisher for RDW.

The actual second best pitch IMO is Unmask, and this is a close third. These see (winning) vintage play on occasion and control the board quite well. Foil is a 3-for-1 on yourself

While I think this is good, I'm gonna go out on a limb and say that Foil is the best pitch card after Force of Will.
