Rescue a creature and draw... a random amount of cards. Which might mean 0 cards. And it costs you the creature's mana cost to save it. Not great.

@A3Kitsune: It says on the card that X can't be 0. I'm assuming that that means you can't draw 0 cards.

I say its epic. If your using this vanguard just make sure to use creatures with powerful ETB abilities.

ive never seen this kind of magic card...i've got his legendary form, but what is this...like a planeswalker...not i know its not one...is there any more of these types of card? it looks interesting
Every once in awhile, I stumble upon one of these Vanguard cards while hitting "Random Card". And... what is with the art and card frames on all of these?? They look totally outsourced from typical WoTC design standards. Some of these are trying to depict legendary creatures of serious lore significance, yet come off as half-finished and cartoony.
What an opportunity to design some beautiful cards; they are oversized after all. I might even buy some if it's a beloved character and keep it for the art if not the format itself. Vanguard should step up the artwork, in my humblest opinion.
