i love the word may haha most of my friends never remember to make anyone lose the life. it also makes things like Forbidden Orchard a lot more useful. then it doesnt hurt so much to give your opponent a 1/1 spirt when you know its costing them a life as well

Pales in comparison to the slew of extremely powerful vampires in Zendikar. For two-drops, Vampire Hexmage and Bloodghast come to mind. It's a shame, because it's not really a bad card.

Such a fun card. I can still here the cries of Zagfly as I allowed him to kill himself slowly with two of these beauties on the Battlefield.

Some of my friends like to put creature tokens on the field on their upkeep. They don't like doing that so much anymore, haha.

rough on token ,soldier and even other vamp decks. If you play alot of creatures, this is a pain.

My anti token deck is complete with this guy. Great art.
fun, because although it definetly neuters some decks, it will probably have an effect that at least does something to most.

Awesome card and a great anti-Ally card.

Anti-swarm creature that is also a vampire? Ouch. A couple of these guys on the battlefield will obliterate certain decks, especially if he's getting a boost from guys like Vampire Nocturnus.

I think this is a great card. Granted that it is used in a bleed deck, where overpowering your opponent is your objective. There are obviously better vampires in that case. But for a bleed deck, this is a great addition along with Pulse Tracker.

"you may have" means that your enemy has the option not to lose a life, right?

Ah! A splashable Poisonbelly Ogre. I know in which deck this one's going.

It's great against Eldrazi decks that summon lots of spawns. Having at least one of these when the spawns start dropping can hurt your opponent pretty significantly. Having more than one is awesome.

For the purposes of anything, his ability doesn't deal damage, it causes life loss.

Thanks. That was my thought but I wanted to clarify it.

Worst case scenario, this dude is a cheap vampire with a nifty ability. However, under other scenarios, he chews your opponent to pieces.

This guy is underestimated, with just 2 on the field you can quickly bleed an opponent dry. Your opponent won't want to use removal on him, but he'll still want to summon creatures. He works against most decks, and he truly shines against some. A common with such a nasty effect at such cheap cost is not often seen.

Outclassed by Suture Priest ^ Link will work when 'Action' (Third Scars set) comes out.
Because Wizards doesn't give a f**k about the color pie as long as the color benefiting from its disappearance is White.

This card is the staple of my vampire deck. With it on the field, people suddenly start to think before they play their creatures. With four on the field, some things just aren't even worth playing.

Whenever I get more than one of these in a mulitplayer free for all environment, everyone focuses on my like I just dropped 10 eldrazi spawn on my first turn.

This guy is a monster in limited. I remember passing him during a draft then facing off a control black player. Turn 2 Blood Seeker, with no way to remove him due to Doom Blade and Shock being first picked heavily. My life kept getting sucked dry. The game came down to him at 4 life and me at 2 life. I was afraid to play a creature and he had plenty of life drain spells. I lost the game because I underestimated its value. He is no eclipsed by Blood Artist I wonder if he will see play now that the new guy is in town.
