I like this card alot. Good for when people have something like Nova Chaser or Darksteel Colossus.

Used on your own creature or an ally's creature, the creature may be killed in response, countering this. Used on an opponent's creature will make the card much weaker than Awe Strike.

Not bad, compared to a lot of life gain this is pretty good. Under normal circumstances it's alright, but take advantage of it and ur looking at an Ajani Goldmane avatar that just doubled it's p/t, or really good g/w life gain. Not big on the art, though.
Don't compare this to Angel's Mercy, since that card sucks. A fairer comparison is to something like Rest for the Weary, which will usually give more than this, for the same cost.
Then again, though, this can potentially be very good, if you have the right creature to cast it on.

This isn't that bad for the mana cost. Angel's Mercy is 4 mana for 7 life, comparatively. That's 1.75 life per point of mana. Even if you used this card on a creature with only 4 power, you'd still come out ahead in that ratio, and it only gets better from there. Not that Angel's Mercy is a great card. It's a pretty terrible card too.

This would look better with 4 lines of text than with 2, IMO.
