Nice save with the flavor text. Also, awesome art.

Look me in the eye and tell me the result of the mistake isn't -way- cooler than the intent. I gotta think the person overseeing the artist who drew this adorable hellion thought just that. Either that or he laughed himself into a coma. Either way, it's hard not to love this card to little bits. Black needs more snuggly!

And, of course, the only other lemure card Viscid Lemures makes a reference to the misspelling- or is that miss - spell - ing...?

Weirdest name for any card in Magic, in my opinion. For that, this guy gets at least a 3/5 from me.
However, trivial things aside, if I happened to have a box of Ice Age laying around to have a booster draft, I would be totally okay with picking this guy. He seems like he'd be solid in limited.

A 4/3 for isn't half-bad, and neither is a 3/3 flier. The duality is just icing on the cake.
This card always terrified me way more than any of the "Horror Demon Vampire Zombie Terror"s did. The flavor text fits perfectly, as you would hardly be intimidated by something that looks like that and yet you can clearly see it's a 4/3, capable of handily ripping an elephant to shreds.
I like this card's art, even if it is a mistake. It's probably better than it would have been otherwise.

how could the flavor text be so dark while the artwork is so cute?

Can you really blame the artist, I mean Lemur - Lemure, and the flavour text saying that they thought it'd be no threat, a cute little mistake. Aww they're harmless really, rip tear SCREAM!

The funnier thing to me isn't that he didn't know what a "lemure" is, but that he nailed it on "hyalopterous."

Can you really blame him? Do an image search for "Lemure" (make sure google didn't auto correct it). He is far from the only one to connect lemure and lemur. Hell, even my spell check is flagging it right now. This is solely the fault of whomever assigned it to him. Knowing some obscure entry in an old D&D manual shouldn't be the job of the artist but R&D.
I agree that the flavor text was made after the screw up. A living(?), viscous blob of what appears to be rotting flesh looks anything but harmless.

Flavortext reminds me of the Mouthwing monsters from the Dr. Strange film, you know the ones that seemed to kill everyone.

What I love is the conversation that must have taken place during the creature type update. "Okay so, replace lemure type with spirit." "But..."

My question is: Why didn't they change the name & creature type when they saw the picture?
Check Alchor's Tomb. That should have been Alchor's Tome, but the artist either misheard or the name was written badly, cannot remember the correct one, and painted a Tomb. So they changed the name.

1. Charging Badger 2. Goblin Tunneler 3. Hyalopterous Lemure 4. Activate the lemure's {0} ability 30000 times 5. Target Badger with Tunneler's ability 6. Target Badger with Call for Blood, sacrificing your -299997/3 Lemure 7. Badger gets --299997/--299997 and becomes an unblockable 299998/299998 trampler 8. Win.
This works, right?

Honestly, if it wasn't for the art I wouldn't love the card as much as I do...
