Time Spiral was how many cards over a regular set's size and they used up an additional slot to print this guy? Was the original way more popular than I realize? I love Time Spiral, but if viewed from an objective distance... Oh and cut Richard Thomas some slack he thought the art de***ion actually called for winged lemurs.

They printed this card to reference the gaffe on Hyalopterous Lemure's art. The original card wasn't popular, but it was notable that the artist mistook what was supposed to be an evil spirit for a flying monkey.

This card references Hyalopterous Lemure in ability and flavor text. Famously, artist Richard Thomas misread lemure (a French word for ghost) with lemur, the primitive, bushy-tailed monkey. This same mistake is being made by our favorite coward, Norin the Wary, in the flavor text.
