It helps you to protect your non-black creatures from Doom Blade... so according to a gatherer comments, this must be clearly 5/5!
Seriously... it can protect your creatures sometimes, but it's much more preferable in synergy with cards like Contaminated Ground

Cycle a card and a creature gets immunity to Doomblade, or can block fear, or can get evasion, at instant speed? This card is great in artifact decks since Go for the Throat is locked down, and so too will be Doomblade. Dropping this on Blightsteel Colossus negates almost all colored blockers.

I love this card in combination with Precursor Golem. For 1 black, assuming you have no other golems on the table, nets you 3 cards, avoids Doom Blade (and being artifacts avoid Go For the Throat), and can let you possibly swing for 9 unblockable.
