Ol'Drifter is probably one of the best drawing engines in the current Standard environment. Its a Counsel of the Soratami with a BODY that can be recycled. What more can you ask for?

not exactly the best drawing engine, but very versatile, which is important. being a creature, it easily ecades certain counters and other abilities, and getting a 2/2 flier for an extra 2 mana is a great bonus if you have the mana.

Great card, I wonder how people rate this lower than 4 1/2 5 stars. Was a staple of standard and so far there has been no replacement for it in Zendikar.

How is this at lower than 4.5 stars? It's a creature, it's a lot more easily recycled and if you Momentary Blink it, you get 4 cards and a 2/2 flyer for 5 mana.

Evoke him, and with the sacrifice trigger on the stack, Momentary Blink him to keep him in play and draw an extra two cards. Next turn attack, flashback the Blink - profit!
@divine_exodus - If you Momentary Blink him, he comes in to play twice. You'd get four cards, two for the first time and two for the return at end of turn. I'm unclear on whether or not you can respond to the Evoke ability after he hits the field but before he is sacrificed, though. I think you'd have to hard cast him to do that.

@divine exodus, he said if you momentary blink the mulldrifter, which does indeed draw 4. 3 to evoke + 2 for momentary blink.

I run this in a GUB deck with Gutter Grime. It's really sweet, using this guy with Undying Evil. Draw 2 cards AND get a 3/3 flyer for 4 mana? Then run stuff like Bloodbond March...this card is absolutely fantastic in a sacrifice/reanimate deck.
