What's the point of paying 1 green to gain 1 life when you're gonna tap it for mana

i like this one.
it counts as a forest, which is worth something for a lot of land fetch cards.
If you have a deck that DEPENDS on some life gain for anything, this can facilitate your mana acceleration and the life gain function in one play.

I wish they made more non-dual lands that counted as a basic land type.

I actually quite like this. I play a mono- Green mana denial deck with Mwonvuli Acid-Moss, Acidic Slime, Reap and Sow, Plow Under, and Mold Shambler with two of these in it. Since the Acid-Moss lets you search for any forest (including nonbasic) but puts it into play tapped, theres nothing better to find with it than this, which comes into play tapped already. Sure, 1 life per activation isn't much, but it can make a difference sometimes. This card gets a solid 3.5/5 from me.

A way to use any extra green mana you have around if you don't mind the initial ETB tapped restriction.
