AWESOME ART. In Future Sight, that is...the Shadowmoor art is kinda meh. And a good card!

Sad that the flavor text means nothing. They will probably never bring anything sengir back because it is too original and it won't resonate with the newbies.

Art is soooo much better than the Shadowmoor version

If you compare it to Dragonskull Summit, this has MORE potential to be useful.

1) Never comes into play tapped. (Although only colourless mana)
2) DS needs a Mountain/Swamp to fully shine, this only needs a land that produces B or R mana.

The only downfall is if this is the only land you pull, but you should probably have mulliganned anyways.

There is a lot of speculation that the Baron Sengir might be from the upcoming plane of Innestrad. They brought back Phyrexia, maybe they'll get a little more daring.

@Dr.Pingas The art in the official announcement with Lilliana on the throne looks like Baron Sengir is dead in the background.

I agree the art on this version is better, but man I hate the Future Sight frame...

I love this art, frame and flavor text. I hope we will still visit this plane someday.

Part of an innovative cycle from Future Sight:

WhiteBlue: Nimbus Maze
BlueBlack: River of Tears
BlackRed: Graven Cairns
WhiteGreen: Horizon Canopy
RedGreen: Grove of the Burnwillows

This later spawned a cycle of "signet lands" in Shadowmoor, and is an extremely efficient mana producer. The only weakness is that it cannot use its own colorless mana ability to activate its second ability, meaning you need at least one other mana source to get it going.
