The ability, the art work, and the colors are impressive, very impressive. He has an interesting color scheme and I hope that sometime in the future, wizards designs more cards with enemy colors. Numot's ability is insane, but I don't see how blue or white is tied in with land destruction; other than for the purpose of control, mabye.

You don't see how white is tied in with land destruction? White has the single best land destruction card in the game - Armageddon. Also, Desolation Angel may be black, but she has a white kicker tied to complete LD. While not destruction, blue has cards like Sunder for dealing with land. I think Numot's ability makes perfect sense.

This card is awesome! For 6 mana of strange colors, you get a 6/6 flyer dragon with an ability that can turn the game for you very fast, if you just can get through your enemies blockers.

This card is amazing in early game and terrible in late game, by late game your opponent probably has blockers/creature removal, and you would have to spend a lot of turns bringing down their lands even if you could get your dragon through, at which point its a normal 6/6 flyer for 6 mana. On the flip side, if you play it very early with mana accel and your opponent doesn't have a flying blocker, you can pretty much assume you just won the game. Its risk vs. reward.

Give him double-strike and its ridiculous, early or late game. New EDH general for Colbert.Deck NO BEARS ALLOWED!!

Decent card. It's 6/6 with slight evasion (flying isn't all that evasive anymore) for 6 mana - pretty standard when it comes to legendary dragons. I find the ability pretty decent, but destroying mana starting on turn 7 seems slightly weak. Although in EDH (the only format where this card would probably EVER be played) turn 7 LD may be 'ok' - if you can somehow get him through for damage and keep him alive.
Generally though, I find him way too easy to deal with with the quality of answers availble in the formats he can be used in. In the White and Blue colors I would expect some defense on this guy - some sort of shroud, or deflection ability...something useful to keep him alive. In red...I'd expect it to be slightly more aggressive - laying a slow creature on turn 6 isn't what red does well. When I look at this card I can't find a place that he really fits...so that's why I give him 2-1/2 stars.
Honestly, when I look at this card I compare him to the other R/W/U creatures out there - Lightning angel. 3 Abilities, 3 colors. Evasion for bule (flying), defense for white (vig), aggressiveness for red (haste), and a 3/4 body because he's so tough to cast. The reality is that Numot doesn't hold a candle to that design.
Speaking of formats - it's the only available EDH general in it's given colors....kinda sad.

In any case, the abilites of these dragons don't seem to be tied into all 3 of their colors, rather the color of mana spent on that ability. Red equates the most with land destruction, while Teneb, the Harvester uses an ability that costs 2B and resurects a creature from the graveyard: traditionally the baliwick of black. Likewise Vorosh, the Hunter uses an extremely green ability and his ability costs 2G.

Very fun and potent in a 5 color deck with Global Ruin and Rafiq, but even in 3 colors it's great with red and white the colors of land destruction and RW the base of most double strike. Then theres blue to easily control what they do with their limited resources

Each of these dragons is one main color plus its two enemy colors; thus, its ability will be associated with the main color both in its cost and effect.
I think it's so cute that you guys reckon WUR = "USA" colours. I heard Numot is actually meant to represent a combination of the following countries: Australia, Cambodia, Chile, Costa Rica, Croatia, Cuba, Czech Republic, Dominican Republic, Faroe Islands, France, Iceland, North Korea, Laos, Luxembourg, Nepal, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Panama, Paraguay, Philippines, Puerto Rico, Russia, Samoa, Serbia and Montenegro, Slovakia Slovenia, Thailand and the United Kingdom.
(I like Numot, but the whole "arr harr harr I can destroy your lands" aspect makes playing WUR in EDH a really tough call).

There are two colors that don't get land destruction, he is both of them. What gives? In Teneb's case green and white both dabble with the graveyard, Orosh deals damage off of a white trigger and in Vorosh's case, well +1/+1 counters are fairly standard across the board.

Rather decent Elder Dragon. I still feel that most of them are win-more cards instead of win cards... ANd i'd rather have land destruction a lot earlier than turn 7. Still, a decent card regardless. 3/5.

Discard him for some cheap effect like Kris Mage and revive him with Doomed Necromancer. He's out by turn five -that's if your deck is slow.

Seeing Red, White, and Blue together in a mana cost with a Legendary Dragon is awesome. The art suits it, and it's not even an older card. (What I mean is, It doesnt look like Lightning Angel, it looks newer. The card design.)
And I'm proud to be an American...were at least I can destroy your laaand. And I won't forget the men who died, who gave their life to meeeee...

hmmmm i dont really see white and blue as keeping with the land destruction theme, although i think blue as a color does benifit from more mana than your opponent than when relying on counterspells.
It is a 6/6 creature, taking a direct hit from this mid to late game is going to be pretty devestating by itself, the forcing to lose 2 lands is also very crippling to your opponent, they may as well throw in the towel right there.

Land destruction (or at least disruption) has been in all colors in some form over the years. Yes, is most famous for it, but has had it's fair share. Though it took the typical approach of 'fair' destuction where equal number (Balance) or all lands (Armageddon).
on the other hand usually disrupts land, more than destroying it. Bouncing (Boomerang) or tapping ( Mana Short) lands to slow to even lock out an opponent's resources. But I agree that this is pushing it for the side of Numot.
On a side note, why are spells automatically associated only with America? I'm American myself, so I somewhat get it, but there are a ton of countries represented by those colors on their flags. United Kingdom, France, Chile... and even Russia and Cuba. Does that mean Nayans are Mexican or Italian? Or is Jund in Afghanistan? Just something that irked me to see on every comment page.

This is a good commander but the ld ability doesn't do much besides give precision destruction. At turn seven, in the lest, a player should have enough ways to come back from losing two lands.

This is a superb EDH general. Played right, he keeps opposing generals off the battlefield because they can't afford the climbing mana cost of their legend when they're losing 2 lands a turn. I've won so many end-game control mirrors this way. In this man's colors, you have access to countless wraths, bounces, and burns that it quickly becomes an epic duel to the death between Numot and whatever unfortunate legend they've mustered behind. It usually ain't pretty for them.

I made a deck centering around this guy once. It was called my 9/11 deck, lol. Ran this dude, and several other dragons and angels. Was pretty effective. This was before I had ever heard of EDH though. I plan to make an EDH deck centered around this guy. So bada**!
EDIT: So as a General, he took out my Slivers EDH deck. I ran lockdowns like Arrest and Faith's Fetters to shut down the Sliver Overlord who was the general of the Sliver deck. I also made his deck, centered around angels, and dragons. (plus other assorted, cheap costing flyers.) Lockdowns, counter spells, and damage spells, and ready to fly!
