Too expensive I'd say. You gotta bring it out with some spell like Vigor Mortis or somethin' or use a Dimir Doppelganger's ability - then it could do some good, perhaps.

Why the low rating ? In a deck full of snow permanents this creature rocks !

This card is awesome. When it comes into play in a snow deck, it's already powerful. The ability makes it much more powerful. Urza's Incubator is great at bringing it out quicker.
If you use nothing but Snow Lands you'll bring it out with a minimum of 7/7. For a small cost it can put out Ice Counters on other things and buff itself from more. It gets strong fast.

@MoeRapples Actually, it's a minimum of 8/8. Includes itself.
The turn you can attack with this thing, if you have 8 mana, then place 4 counters on your opponents lands to make them snow which also buffs the owl, turning it into a 12/12. With flying.

Nice synergy with the red one rimescale dragon. Could be a nice finisher in red/blue control.
My oppoents hate me for my deck U/R -snow deck for this and Rimescale Dragon...

That's... One really bad owl. Wow. 7 CMC? I guess it counts lands?
On the upside! It snows on things! From the sky! Because of flying!

This showed a 12/12 Flying for 5UU wasn't good enough to see play. If it had Shroud though, it would have seen play even if it's just a 5/5 flyer.

Use snow covered land. 7 mana for a 7/7 flying and Jenara's ability. Now stop complaining.

I think it costs a little too much, and that there are other, more playable bombs, even in blue.
That being said, he's full of flavor, looks awesome, and uses ice counters. Pretty baller.

This and Rimescale Dragon make me wish there was a U/R snow land...

I love how the Owl is bigger than the freaking DRAGON.

It's not "you control", it's "in play". Think of limited, how big this thing would be. Think of mirror matches (For a more recent example, Strata Scythe). It's not bad on it's own, but to be great, it needs some support. Rimescale Dragon is a very good example, throws ice counters AND makes the counters thrown with this guy even better. Then there are other things in block that can only interact with snow permanents. You can also use the him to enable a party of snow-landwalk or even an Avalanche. Just search "snow land" in the text to see how many toys this guy can power.
I agree though, useless outside of block or in a deck without any support. But that's like putting Elvish Champion in a Beast tribal deck, dumb.

assuming you use snow lands and this is the only snow creature in your deck it's still a 8/8 flier for 7 CMC and if your actually playing a snow deck (which is possible) this card is Beast, still strictly worse than storm crow. some one had to say it

Uh, guys? This thing is an absolute BEAST in any Snow deck. Why are there any complaints? It's probably the biggest blue flier I've seen.

I love the wording of his ability. "Permanents with ice counters on them are snow." It's like he turns your Darksteel Colossus into a pile of the white stuff. "I'm going to crush you all!" "nope bitch, you're snow" "Well damn."

This card really captures the flavor of the Ice Age block: fun and flavorful, and designed specifically for the casual player.
