Only slightly less advantageous than having a Storm Crow in your hand.

Interesting in an Izzet deck with Gelectrodes and Wee Dragonauts. Two or more spells for one, and the abilities trigger.

It's frustrating you have to put the other cards on the bottom.
Could be nice in combo with, say, Brainstorm or similar, but still...

I like Ripple and I wonder whether the instants and sorceries with this ability could work nice with Eye of the Storm and the mentioned Wee Dragonauts. :-)

I wish they'd had the guts to make this do 3 damage. As it was, Ripple really was a complete write-off... makes me wonder why they bothered.

Should have given it a Kindle effect too, but as is it's pretty good.

Would've been cooler in my opinion and more cost efficient if it were 1 damage for R. Ripple with more than 2 damage could get a little swingy (oh look I got the just the right sequence of cards and wiped your board!) but as it is the card is kind of unimpressive.

I learned at the Alara prereleases that Limited disreagards the 4-of rule...this is a common.
it seems possible that 10 of this card might be a recipe for ownge at a Coldsnap Draft event. 10 of this, 20 Mountains, 10 random shit. chances are, your going to draw at least 1, Ripple out all the ones you didnt draw, play the random shit to close on turn 3. not bad :)

@Darthparallax The problem with that theory is that in a draft format this won't come around to you. For a burn spell, its really not that bad without the ripple; instant speed, cheap, common. A red player will take this because its removal, not to build a ripple deck. Surging Aether, Surging Might, and Surging Sentinels might be better for that. Surging Dementia doesn't do enough, though.

Great when paired with Quest for Pure Flame. Launch the Quest turn 3-4 and play this for 4 damage, then rippling into more is amazing to help push that kill.

I went to a legacy tournament with a deck 40 of these and 20 simian spirit guides. They told me that I couldn't play that deck because it was too good. That or something about a 4-of rule.

You should be able to make an infinite combo out of this and Wheel of Sun and Moon if you're crafty enough.
