Use it to take a planeswalker, usually they have a minus ability that will kill them if they are low enough, or just let them reach ultimate then take'em.

I thought this was silly at first, but I don't know what I was thinking then. It takes cunning to use effectively, and effective it is- even if I don't have anything to kill 'my own' permanents with. 5 mana is definitely fair.
YES THAT'S MINE, WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO ABOUT IT?

I'm trying real hard to figure out what's going on in the art.

always fun to steal elspeth knight-errant just long enough to use her last ability

Situations where this is useful can be rare, but when this card is good, it's nuts good.

Note that not only is this a versatile card for stealing your opponent's stuff, if you're playing a deck that ramps mana up for big spells (such as a {G}{R} deck) this card can also be used in a pinch to: 1. Give one of your own creatures haste on your own turn (albeit for {3}{R}{R} mana 2. Act as a combat trick and untap one of your own creatures to block one of theirs (or even better, get one of their utility creatures to block their own assault) Lots of uses for a card that is essentially un-counterable. Also, use it with Bazaar Trader to permanently seize the permanent.

Finally I can steal their stormcrow to block their storm crow and they can't counter it with their force of will tossing a storm crow

Very good. As mentioned, there is more to this card than "I steal your fatty and hit you ha ha ha.". Though that wins games too.
Also, love the art. I like how the "before" section's wing still joins with the "after"'s angel.

I actually like the one word flavor more than Lava Axe's "Catch!"

This can be used to so much. I need to add this to my Nicol Bolas commander deck.

Every card in Time Spiral was a throwback to at least one previously printed card.
This card references Threaten and similar temporary theft cards in red and is uniquely the only one which can steal any permanent!

I really want to see someone use this on Nicol Bolas, Planeswalker just to wipe that smug grin off his face. "-2" "You first."

@Missile: I'd say it's more likely referencing the 4 letter flavor texts from Mirage to Unglued, Heel, BOOM, Next!, Ewww, Here, Mine, Stay and MOOO.

Instant speed, uncounterable, any permanent and it untaps. Very strong card. Probably one of the strongest of the threaten type cards. Must for red control decks.
Also what if someone declares a creature as an attacker, then you use this on it. I am assuming because it switched controllers it would automatically be removed from combat? Otherwise that would be very strange. You would have the creature untapped and it would still be attacking yourself O.o

okay, hypothetical scenario here: your opponent has lich's mirror out at 1 life, and someone casts earthquake for 1, in response I cast this on the lich's mirror and my opponent dies
