one of my first picks for a saporling deck, it's a thallid it's a wall it's a 2drop. what's not to love? (other then it's lack of sacrifice saporling ability's)

Such a huge part of the Thallid deck. It's necessary to play defense in the early game, and what's better than 5 toughness on turn two that also poops out saprolings? A full playset has never left my thallid deck and probably never will.

As early as you can get one out, they are invaluable. Stops the early attacker's game and lets you build up a nice selection of saprolings. Crucial for any thalid deck.

before a savage thallid comes out, this is vital, you dont want to block with your thallids for they are your generators and the more you have the more power you pop out, this is the exception, on turn 2, very little can beat a 0/5, and later, once you got the artifacts akroma's memorial and eldrazi monument, this is a 1/6 flying, pro black and red, FS, indestructable, rest of the abilities dont matter (trample, haste, vigilance) and you can slap a verdent embrace on this and it is a beast of a wall 4/9 poping out a saproling each upkeep
once you get a savage thallid, you can just block with out much care, sac a sap and regen, if they got some anti regen, you are screwed either block or eat it, just make sure you kill the anti regen in the process

Baring combos, you have to wait 3 whole turns for a measly 1/1, so its almost not even a factor. Does well in decks with things like Doubling Season and Paradox Haze, but if your just looking for a defender, check out Wall of Blossoms.
