In a white and black deck, you could use Deathlace to turn your opponent's creature black and get through with your White Knight. In a green and black deck, you could use Deathlace to turn your opponent's spell black and counter them with Lifeforce. If your opponent is playing black, and you have some non-black creatures in play, you could use Deathlace on one of them to protect them from the effects of a Terror. If your opponent has a Circle of Protection: Red, and you have a Shivan Dragon, you could turn it black and get through for some serious damage. If, if, if. This card is too situational to be play-worthy. That art is pretty cool, though.

Situational, yes, but the situations are varied enough (and enough of them involve cards you play) that this is still play-worthy or at least sideboard-worthy.

Yikes. You'd have to be REALLY scared of Doom Blade or CoP: Black to use this card.
