Finally, a good reason (for me) to play black/red.

Cunning, efficient, an actual good card from the shadowmoor set.

Add this definitely in any black-red deck... with cheap black and red creatures combined with those high amount of damage and removal spells and youll surely destroy ur opponent...

having 2 of these out and playing (casting) Murderous Redcap, when he comes into play (enters the battlefield) it can deal 6 damg. to a creature or player ... damn!... now what about having 4 of them out
10 damg.!!!!????

It's just asking to be killed with it's fantastically low toughness, yet punishes those who follow their instinct. Basically, you're screwed either way.

@MasterOfEtherium... Stop Capitalizing The First Letter Of Every Word That You Type. Its Annoying And Makes You Sound Unintelligent. If Your Reading This And Also Find It Irritating, Copy And Past This Whenever You See His Comments (Which Are On Almost Every Card I Look Up :/)

I actually find this to be an exceptionally weak liege.. it more than dies to everything, it dies to everything even 1 damage blocked combat damage.. and if your opponent is already ahead they don't care about losing the 5 life just to bolt it. If they are not ahead then its just a win more card.

@bensted. . Haha, I have to say that's pretty funny I never really realized it until you say, but it definitely is pretty annoying. It actually does sound annoying. The way it sounds is like he's starting a sentence on every word. Pretty Freaking Retarded If You Ask Me!

weak? srsly? he's black/red, enchant him with Fists of the Demigod and unless your enemy's creatures have a power of 9 or more or a 3 powered first-striker, they can't mess with him and yes he dies to burn/removal more easily but at least he hits back on those spells *cough*pathtoexile*cough*

I think hes pretty good. You drop Ashenmoor Gouger or Shambling Remains on turn 3, turn 4 drop this guy swing for 6, next turn play demigod of revenge swing again, and if they want to get rid of him with spot removal they have to pay for it. Only thing that sucks is volcanic fallout/pyroclasm etc.

A lot of you may think he's pretty week, but he is a 4 drop which is nice. Really the reason you use him is either to get the removals used early and if they target him, 4 life. ;D I like him, and I use him, and I also hardly lose with him.

Haakon, Stromgald Scourge. Might even be better than greater shroud.

@Donovan_Fabian

You're going to swing with a 4/1 liege that buffs up your other creatures +2/+2? You can call him a weak liege but R&D obviously wanted players to have this guy hang back. That way opponents are forced to remove him through non-combat methods, and that's what hurts; they lose a killspell and 4 life, or you continue to hit hard with cinders. Thrown into a Grixis deck and you have the blue mana capacity to counterspell anything that targets him, so it means they took 4 damage and wasted a killspell. This guys is excellent.

A solid liege, but not one of the stronger ones. His ability isn't really that amazing, and I don't really see him fitting into any deck besides a strict B/R one.

He only has 1 toughness.

A solid card. One toughness, yes; but this guy wasn't meant to attack, but rather hang back and boost other creatures you're playing. And he hits the opponent for 4 when targeted for removal.

If you can give your creatures +1/+1 and potentially +2/+2, keep that ability for a couple of turns(we're swinging, because we're playing aggro), and then deal 4 when someone cooks him, you've gotten your mana value back.

And he turns your 1/1 Rakdos Cackler into a 3/3 meanie before you Unleash him. That makes him a 4/4 aggressor for 1. Yes, please.

When i noticed his synergy with Lavaclaw reaches I near shat myself. I realize that the other man-lands under allied lieges get the same kinds of benefits; but it's a huge benefit to note; and the firebreathing starts mattering a lot more on a base 4/4
