I actually really like this card. There is a lot it can do, and at worst, it is a black land fetch. And once you're hellbent, it ruins your opponent's day/ Very surprised that this never saw Standard play.

Interesting mechanism. 'Nothing' is a wildcard XP I can almost see that being a ruling. I can also see the look on someone's face changing if you played it when you had no hand left, and they read their way down to the Hellbent entry.
XD This is the magic card version of the Star Wars 4 scene with Jabba the Hut and Harrison Ford.
The card itself is great when hellbent, though demonic tutor is better of course.

combos with Lion's Eye Diamond; sacrificing the Diamond with this on the stack allows you to be hellbent when the tutor resolves and gives you three mana to spend on the Ad Nauseam you tutored for
Korlash, Heir to Blackblade. This card along with him in MBC is fantastic. Even if you don't have him in hand you can always grab another land, as someone else said.

Hellbent type decks rely on small hand size (if at all), thus at times the deck would rely on top deck to happen. This card turns disadvantage of low hand size into top deck when you want it.

Does anyone else find the guy on the left profoundly disturbing?
I mean, jeez, if you're gonna be horribly undead and nefarious and infernal and all, you should at least still hit the gym.

I want to mention One with Nothing but it's so flawed compared to this Lion-Eye Diamond...
Am I insane? Well, yes of course I must be hellbent if I'm saying that but humor my madness anyway:
Do you have $80? Does your store still stock Duel Decks: Divine vs. Demonic?
Thought not. This is therefore better.

Undead Jabba the Hutt is teaching partial gimps things... that are probably evil. Your argument is most likely invalid.

It's hellbent option works perfectly together with the hideaway option of Howltooth Hollow. Especially nice since the hellbent option doesn't state 'reveal'.

If this card didn't have Hellbent, it would be useless if you had no other cards in your hand. Instead, it becomes awesome then.
That kind of design tickles me for some reason.

So so good. I run next to a Putrid Imp, Oona's Prowler, and Jagged Poppet. Not only do those cards synergize with eachother but they allow me to utilize this card easily. Do I need to something different than what's in my hand? Screw my hand, dump it, pay two and grab what I need.
most popular use for this in legacy today are in storm based combo decks or to some extent , hellbent decks..but one overlooked use for this card is in pox decks where your goal is to put both players in top-deck mode..
