Meh. Severely over-costed, imo. I understand that it's nice in a pinch, but it only really helps if you're being attacked by a single creature without trample or flying.

@Joseph_Leito, READ THE CARD! The Saproling comes into play already blocking the targeted creature. It blocks the creature even if that creature has flying. It blocks the creature even if it has landwalk. It blocks the creature no matter what 'unblockable' ability the creature has. The art even shows it blocking a flying creature.

Alas, it would have been so much fun to have convoke on this card, however it does do amazing with another ability. Graft, instead of chump blocking, eat their attacker instead.

Colors are a bit weird, but if you can cast this and then activate Vault of the Archangel to kill all the offending attackers (especially the ones not typically blockable), you get some style points. And now that I think about it, the colors are not that weird, considering Ghave decks. I wanna try this!
@goatllama: Think of the block it was in. Saprolings EVERYWHERE due to Time Spiral and Selesnya. Vindictive Mob was a card specifically for dealing with a niche IN THE TIME IT WAS PRINTED.

A really high level play would be to play four of these and twincast one of them when attacked by a vindictive mob. two for zero! except for the 14 mana you spent! take that!

If only it cost one less? Feels too good there with the cantrip. What a cool card. As others said, in block this was impressive with graft or Life and Limb or any other buffs. Its a fun card, even if its not good.
