And people wondered why blue was considered so good back then... on top of all the card drawing and control it had better creatures than the creature colours!

This is a very good creature...The drawback is easy to play through...

The draw back isn't anything. There is a card that says whenever a Blue source does damage to you, prevent one of that damage. Blue was so great.... Now WOTC is trying to neuter it.

Yeah Not Even A Drawback This Card Will Blow Through The Battlefield.

The original art. For Serendib, the best art.

This card would still be too good in today's creature-oriented environment.
And he's blue.
Hail to the king, baby.

Hey, he's not on the reserved list! A man can dream, can't he? Probably the closest I'll get to him is Conundrum Sphinx...
This card is just so awesome. It goes to show that blue has had it all throughout the years, from direct damage, to brutally efficient creatures.
The arabian nights art is anson maddocks doing what he did best -- giving scary cards scary art!
I think I'm selling a gideon so that I can pick up an AN edition serendib.

He was printed as an uncommon in AN, "U2". Yes, "U2" means "Uncommon" 2. When did rare start with U? There were no rares in Arabian Nights, why have they changed this to rare? Findmagiccards.com website is correct.

Arabian Nights blue cards that saw alot of use was this, Flying Men and Unstable Mutation.
Esp. putting the mutations on said Flying Men and Serendibs, people started pulling out their Phantasmal Forces and Phantom Monsters for these to serve with Air Elemental.
and for anyone thats wondering yes it was insanely broken to play with 4 Library of Alexandria's.

Probably too powerful even in today's environment. What a beast!

Better than the revised version. 5/5

Still way above the curve. Even with the little drawback of losing one life a turn. Compared to the three your opponent is losing each turn, that pales in comparison. Flying creatures should not be that strong for only three mana, yet Serendib Efreet is just that. 5/5
