the copies put on the stack with the replicate ability do not count as "played" and as such also do not count towards the triggered ability storm, am i right? otherwise this would work nicely with such cards...

This card has so much flexibility! Need to stop your opponent from counterspelling something? Tap their lands during the end step! Need to delay your opponent's game-ending offensive? Tap their creatures! Want a really expensive Silence? Tap the opponent's lands during his or her upkeep! And so much more!

The copies do not trigger storm, but do go on the stack and can be countered. The copies don't trigger storm since they are never cast: they are just put on the stack.

Im not sure, as the oracle's does say cast while the card says play, even relatively new cards that does 'stick' like effects say 'play the imprinted card' so im not really sure, anyway doing that is abusive, you can tap all your opponent's creatures every turn in mid/late game. Add some draw engine and its gg.

I called Wizards twice concerning replicate and Storm, one time being put on hold so the judge could double-check it. Replicate DOES NOT count toward a storm stack.

To "play" a card means to cast a spell, or to use the "play a land" action. Replicate does neither: It puts the copies directly onto the stack without ever actually casting them. That's why it doesn't contribute to storm.

All of the Replicate cards LOOK awesome. This one of the sweet few that deliver on expectations, even sometimes exceeding them. (See: 'the moment Johnny discovered a land is a permanent') This card is likely the reason we have so many 'nonland' clauses on cards nowadays :p
