would be so much better if you could counter other spells and not just creatures.

If Star Fox was fighting this brain in the art work it would be a 5. Maybe...

It looks like Gleemax's younger brother.
If you could make Gleemax into a creature spell, this would become funny.

Pretty hilarious in EDH as a one- of, especially if your general happens to be niv mizzet.

I once countered a darksteel colossus with this, drew 11 cards, and did 11 damage to them with niv mizzet. Not bad.

Incredibly silly art, dumb flavour text, nearly unplayable card.

Think this gets a worse rap than it deserves. Counter your opponents 6cc creature with this and you not only deny him his creature, you draw 6 cards. Sure this card is situational and pricey, but pretty much everyone plays creatures and it offers some massive card advantage when you nail the other guy's fatty with this.

Granted this card is situational, but the potential payoff is amazing. It's pretty ridiculous that the card is rated less than three.

Looks like it would be nuts in EDH.

It's situational, but I love it because my friends dig big fat creatures. And having that mana is easy in our team games that go plenty long.

"Well, we'd better take it out, then."

Nice Python reference, Mr Gumby.

the biggest "F*ck you Autochthon Wurm" card in the game

This card can out-right win you a game. With the card advantage from this, if you were in a close game it will tip the scales in your favour quite easily. Beyond a casual game, however, this card may be a bit lacking.

This is hilarious. I'd play this if it cost less.

If it cost 3RedBlue it would be even funnier (Niv-Mizzet, anyone?)

I think that this would be a great, well-known addition to the game if it countered spells other than creatures, to keep it from being a dead draw late-game. If I have the mana to play this, I want it to do me some damned good.

For that cost, it shouldn't just be creatures. The idea is awesome, the payoff can be huge, but... it's just too situational. It would be a little too much so even if it wasn't only creatures, but it would be viable

The only real philosophical question in MAGIC strategy is, is this better with, or against, Omniscience?

EDIT: whoops. did not read the word 'creature' :P Whatever, assume Omniscience is a 5/9 Wierd creature. Or assume Overwhelming Intellect counters non-creature spells. Assume whatever you have to assume to make me look smarter than I am. :)

I think you could still draw 15 cards of emrakul, but not counter. Correct me if I am wrong.
