Awesome name, not a good land. "Pay 1 life, Tap:" would fit with the name, and be a hell of a lot better than the "doesn't untap" cost.
Art is great too.

I do like these Kamigawa lands, despite the "doesn't tap" cost. Mainly, because they look flippin' sublime.

ah
the old dual lands
where they thought it would be only fair to slow us down.

It makes me a little sad that these are so bad.

Seriously. It's so dumb that made functional reprints of Tempest's slow lands rather than giving us the enemy-colored cycle of them in Champions of Kamigawa.
There were no real color-pairings in this this set either way, so why not go for it?

Their preconstructed deck "Kami Reborn" was BlackGreen, so one of them would have fit in there too.
And it contained Iname, Death Aspect, the counterpart to Iname, Life Aspect, which lead to Iname as One as one of the few multicolored cards in this block being enemy-colored. Admittedly, pre-constructed decks from Betrayers of Kamigawa and Saviors of Kamigawa with two colors had allied ones, and made use of those lands.

But still, even if they wanted functional reprints, they could have printed all color combination for the slowlands throughout that block. Maybe they even planned that, but for one reason or the other didn't.

I'd have liked to see the missing five getting printed in Kamigawa, especially if their artwork would have turned out to be as amazing as that from the cycle we got. (It's kind of their redeeming quality.)
