Ultra-broken combo with Vedalken Mastermind. Two cards, infinite turns. See, if you bounce the Topsy Turvy during your opponent's end step, then suddenly the beginning of their turn becomes the end of their turn once again, and it rolls back to your turn, during which you can attack, replay the Topsy Turvy in your postcombat main phase, roll back to your untap step, and repeat the process until they're dead. Turn 3 lockdown.

why is the card upside-down?

One of my favorite cards! Many Johnnies will want to lock the game with this card, but the real fun is the insanity you can cause. The best is when everyone is accustomed to playing their turns backward, when TT is finally dispelled, it is difficult to go back to the normal turn. For those who like multi-player it reverses the turn sequence. Make sure you are left wing in Emperor. Though my typical Emperor never wants me to cast it :-( Sad panda!

Got this card in a booster and it was upside down inside it, like in the picture. Awesome.

Great with cards that have a 'during your upkeep' or 'beginning of your upkeep' positive effect - you get the effect the turn you play it. Run this with any alternate win condition card that triggers at the beginning of your upkeep. Also goes well with expensive counterspells - you untap at the end of your turn, so all your mana is available on your opponent's turn.

There is one thing cooler than taking infinitive turns: taking an infinite turn. Opalescene + Mistmeadow Witch.

It's funny that people think the card is upside-down. While actually only the front printing is reversed. It seems that when you look at the back of the card, it is still straight up. So it's not inserted upside down in the booster. XD

Anywayz, funny card.

Can I put this card into play upside-down for ease of reading, or do I have to use Opalescence to turn it into a creature, Mirrorweave to turn it into a copy of a flip creature, and then satisfy its flip condition to flip it upside-down?

Both this and Staying Power are templated as such that they could work in 'for real' gameplay.

I imagine that neither will ever be printed for real at the risk of making numerous judges go on sociopathic killing sprees.

I'm pretty sure this means no-one can win, for as soon as their turn starts, it ends, meaning that turn priority will infinitely pass and never let anyone play anything

know what really wierd is the steps in the phases are taking in normal order

So you're turn will be:
Activate "at the beginning of end step" and respond
Activate "at beginning of clean up" and "until end of turn" goes away along with damage
main
combat
main
Untap
Upkeep
Draw

Note until end fo turn egffects during the turn don't stop until the next player's cleanup

I've been on the end of this combined with Jin-Gitaxias, Core-Augur. I could literally only play instants that I didn't have.

@Lege: Well of course it was upside down in your booster; since it's printed upside down :D
The card back of this card is upside down if you turn the card by 180 degrees so you can read the text.

Quite funny if this card is coincidentally "correctly upside down" when you're one of those players that hastily packs together your cards and have therefore always have some of them turned by 180 degrees in the deck when starting a game.

Player 2: Done? My turn, i play Topsy Turvy.
Player 3: When is it going to be my turn?

@Aun

Thats freaking awesome. But no player gets priority during the untap step, so unfortunately there is no time to use the witches ability before untapping your permanents to exile this sucker and reset the turn. Pretty much if this enchantment is on the board, your not going to be able to untap anything without passing your turn first, no room to cast instants or abilities.

Your combo, as awesome as it is, doesnt actually work. You would need Sands of Time thrown into the mix.

Guess everyone's creatures are always gonna be untapped for blocking...

Functionally, it's a very good card. Unless your opponent isn't tapped out, you can use this as a three mana time walk. And as others have mentioned, being able to bounce it makes for a powerful lock.

It does make the game way more difficult though. I lost my Carnivorous Death-Parrot right after playing this card since my upkeep rolled around after passing the turn.
