crazy card advantage in the right deck. try dropping two in a kamigawa block draft.

Costs too much.

A bit costly. Assuming you do as the above seems to suggest and alternate the two in and out, you're getting infinite draws for 4 Mana per pop after an initial 4 startup. Get an effect or two going that occurs when something enters or leaves the battlefield and that can grow in efficiency pretty quick. I can see it dropping to three, but lower than that and things start to smell deliciously cheesy.

I played this in a WUBRG spirit deck before finding out about Sire of the Storm, and one of my friends refused to challenge my spirit deck after the first two games. Why? Because of the hideously long time it took for me to take a single turn between bouncing two of these around, draining my deck from lands with Elder pine of Jukai and Loam Dweller and all the while gaining tons of mana to play alot of stuff that I drew with Petalmane Baku.
So, from a play perspective Sire is preferable since he doesn't bog down the game as much as this lady does, but if your friends allow it (or you don't play blue in your spirit deck) this is a pretty good card drawing and spirit-trigger-engine. Use it with Petalmane Baku to make it's cost a little more easy to afford.

The best Onna by far.

It's a weaker Striped Bears that can self-bounce itself to be used again. I think it would have been a lot better at a CC of 2G or 1GG, but 3G for basically a refreshable draw spell is nothing to scoff at.

Note that this gets her back from ANYWHERE! Someone pings it, play a spirit/arcane and get her back. Countered, play a spirit/arcane and get her back. Path to Exile, play a spirit/arcane and get her back.

Great with a cost reducer like Animar, Soul of Elements. And Tangleroot makes an excellent source of green mana once you get your second of this bouncy lady in hand.

This does NOT get her back from anywhere, only from the battlefield. Abilities only work on the battlefield unless specifically mentioned to work elsewhere.

Please just play Masked Admirers instead

Oh, what? The card? Oh, expensive, but recurring card draw and spirit playing is great in the right deck. Would've preferred a 1/2 though.

Yup, one less toughness than Striped Bears.

A few notes:
- It's green card draw. It used to be much better, since Kamigawa was around before green card draw was a thing.
- It's GREEN card draw i.e. the colour of obscene mana acceleration. It gives you something to do with that 10 mana if your hand is empty.
- It's basically a green Azure Mage once you've got the setup going.
- There are colourless options to reduce its mana cost.
- Elvish Piper can now replace the hand that it emptied!

I totally agree with LordofRandomness's comments. its Green card draw. If anyone thinks this isnt good then they clearly arent paying attention to how much Green needs card draws. Green already has big fatties, so paying 4 mana to get a 2/1 creature along with card draw, is pretty good. To expect a 2/3 or 3/3 for 4 mana is completely obscene. Be happy with what they give you 4 mana isn't a concern for green to get. Compare with the others of its cycle and you can understand why Haru-Onna is looking pretty good where she is at.

Fun fact of the day, Haru onna (春女) is japanese for spring woman, which is very flavorful. It is a woman, and when it appears (like spring) it brings a bounty of a card. Artwork is amazing too and gotto love a woman who can kill a grizzly bear.

The best of the Onna cycle by a fair margin, mostly because she is green, if blue had the draw effect no one would care. Green has the mana to spend, and only a few good draw spells, even today. She is playable in the right deck, I use her in a mono-green spirit/arcane EDH. Late game I have plenty of mana and could use some more cards, since almost everything in the deck is a spirit, arcane or a land, she often comes back to my hand right after she has been played. Don't think of her as a creature, recurring draw spells are potent even when they are a bit costly.

Oh, and the art is Rebecca Guay, so if nothing else, points there.

When it enters the battlefield I'll draw a card, they said. It's green draw power, they said. Then I realized that to get the most out of it I had to play Spirits. In Kamigawa the best spirits were (in my opinion) BG, so she's still really nice for Kamigawa standards, but now just play Innistrad WB Spirits...
