Can't believe they reprinted this as a common

@JL_Weber. plains is not a reprint of mox pearl, its a land. mox pearl can only be 4 at a time in your deck and you can play any # of them per tern. plus it is a power nine so it sels for over 5k

Weber, it's nice to see you started playing Magic TODAY and haven't learned a thing yet. I said almost the same thing back in early 1994. I was like "Wow they do the same thing as a Land why do they cost 25 dollars each???" and then, I went to a tournament, and got stomped because my opponent dropped on his first turn two moxes, a Land, and time Walk which he managed to Fork, then, he dropped out a Wheel of Fortune, got Regrowth and another Mox, dropped all of it, on the table, Forked another Time Walk, and casted ONE Prodigal Sorcerer, which does a direct damage to any target. He killed me with that card as I was able to take ONE turn before losing.

It's one thing to think stupid the month you start playing, it's another to have your butt handed to you by someone who knows better and uses these. The reason Moxes and Black Lotus cost so much money for doing the same thing as a basic land, is because they add SPEED. What deck doesn't work better when it's faster? All decks in every game you've ever played, would have been quicker with 5 Moxes and a Lotus, because instead of you playing a land and maybe one spell, you could play a land, 2 Moxes, a Lotus, and pop out Mahamoti Djinn on the VERY first turn you took. That's a pretty damn big threat on turn 0. And that's only an example of what I've personally watched.

I played with my friend and he warned me not to try anything funny. My deck's got no Moxes, no Time Walks or Black Lotuses. My deck has many regenerating cards and also hybrids from Eventide, including the scary Deathbringer Liege. My friend played a White/Blue deck. So we played. I played a Swamp and a Nip Gwyllion. Then it was my opponent's turn. He played a Mox Pearl and a Mox Sapphire and a Plains and proceeded to play a Time Walk. He took an extra turn and played an Island and a Phantom Monster. Turn 2 I played a Swamp and a Edge of the Divinity and Unholy Strength on the Gwyllion to make it into a 6/5 lifelink powerhouse and attacked. My opponent's turn two he played a Plains and a Timetwister. With a new hand he played 2 Mox Sapphires and played another Time Walk. He took an extra turn, played an Island and played Goliath Sphinx.*groans*. Then it was my turn I played a Forest and played a Horned Troll. Then my opponent's turn he played a Mox Pearl and Eldrazi Con***ion and had a 18/17 creature with trample, flying and annihilator 2. He attacked with the Sphinx and the Monster and made me sacrifice both my creatures. I was down to 5 life. THen nothing I did helped. This is a really fast game and I'm not jokin'!
See what Moxen can do?!

5/5(And sorry for spamming lol)

Ultimate land Fix, this is why its banned.
4 Mox Emerald
4 Mox Jet
4 Mox Pearl
4 Mox Ruby
4 Mox Sapphire
4 Black Lotus
4 Tolarian Academy

Imagine on T1 you pull 3 moxes, a lotus, and an academy. Thats 10 mana and you would be doing shit like that all the time. Just make every deck you play run this and insane broken card atvantage.

@Duskdale_Wurm: Cool story bro.

Do I even need to restate how brokenly good 'lands' that get around the 1/turn restriction for free are? It's like getting Exploration for free. Oh, and that whole affinity thing...

OMG this is broken. Why isn't the overall rating 5?

This is the only mox I have. I had it in every deck, because even blue control can used offcolour mana. It helped every time I got it.

Power 9! Epic, iconic, powerful, and very expensive dollar wise. One of the most valuable cards in all of MTG. I own one :) but playing power nine is not fair to others, unless they too are playing a power 9 deck .

From the Vault: Power Nine anyone?

In the early, early days of Magic, the moxen were considered crap. Why get one free mana when you can get three free mana with Black Lotus? You're going to win in a turn or three anyway, the wisdom of the day held, and you can put as many as you want in your deck. Anyone who took up the game with the modern rules wouldn't understand.

I'll be blunt.

I just plain don't like white. And I do NOT approve of this card, however many hundreds of dollars it will fetch for on ebay.

@Zotantf: people who use to different metrics than you do to rate cards. Someone might rate this 0.5 or 1 because it is clearly broken. I don't rate cards that way, but I considered it.

Fun Fact:

"Mox" means "Soon" in Latin.

Yep, I speak Latin.

5/5 for Latin.

Since white is the worst color, this is the second worst Mox (because Mox Ruby is a sorcery).
