Arguably better then Trygon Predator. Although Trygon can pick between artifact or enchantment and its toughness is 3, but it forces you to run G/U which are not the best colors for a quicker offensive strategy. Visionary being all white can easily fit into any weenie white and makes an incredible 3 drop having shadow. And shadow is clearly superior to flying. Its pratically unblockable. Usually enchantments play a larger part then artifacts in slowing down weenie speed.
Example: Propaganda, Engineered Plague, Ghostly Prison and many other disruptive enchantments that really bog down weenie decks.
Well here is the perfect solution, a white phantom warrior that munches on enchantments.

Good thing double cleave is playable in mono-white...

@Internet_decks_lame In addition, Trygon Predator requires combat damage, whereas Soltari Visionary only requires damage. Therefore, you could enchant this with Arcane Teachings and ping creatures/players for 1 damage, then destroy an artifact/enchantment.

Soltari troopers and Champions are better for an agro deck, and if you are mono white, the priest and the monk are better still. However, in slow multiplayer, this can be a great way to lose friends. Shadow was annoying during tempest block because is skewed all decks and forced everyone to have a response to these unblockable creatures. Now a days it is downright evil to pull them out, especially with a repeatable destruction ability.
Is it just me, or is he the most depressed looking creature i've ever seen?... is that his mouth that is frowning, or some loose shadow skin...?

Cool art! Cool card too, I guess. If you're into the whole shadow thing and your opponent is into the whole enchanment thing.

This little burrito of sadness holds any of the swords or Umezawa's Jitte really well in EDH, and does it while eating their enchantments. Sword of Fire and Ice is especially effective on him, triggering his ability again on anyone.
