Wait, I'm trying to learn as much as I can about card advantage right now, and this card seems to me like it creates card advantage, and is pretty good, why is it rated so low? anyone that can help i appreciate it. Is it because it costs so much? or because they are lands? hmm I dunnno.

good ramp/ritual target, but probably not as good as plow under or volcanic awakening

Yes EvilCleavage, card advantage is important and I considered using these in a land destruction deck I'm building for that reason, but then I found Dwarven Driller.

in my opinion this seems to be a pretty decent cad to print in our current standard. if the don't want to print stone rain anymore, please print this instead and i'll be happy.

Usually I'd want to play Plow Under for lategame tempo most of the time, but this is nice in dedicated LD.

It's CMC may look pricey, but this is not to be underestimated. It's from Urza block.

If you can ramp into it, would be pretty brutal. Especially if you can play another one next turn.

This costs too much basically. Land destruction is usually best done early on. Wizards does that now mostly by only letting you hate on non-basics, even then they won't let you do it too cheap. Fighting dedicated land destruction is frustrating and generally un-fun for everyone involved. T1: Swamp, Dark Ritual, Duress (to find counters) then Sinkhole is a thing that used to happen.

If you are using costly LD, play a deck with ramp and probably stick to what others have suggested, especially Plow Under.
