Normally you'd finish somebody with a storm chain. I bet this just makes them angry

This card is actually really good if you play Sliver tribal. If you have the mana to play this after playing 6 or 7 slivers in one turn, you can basically set up a next turn win. You'd probably need a training grounds, and the overlord, but still.

Mill is absolutely nothing like the others listed, because it's essentially just a different life total, and milling in no way inhibits your ability to play the game.

Less deadly than Tendrils of Agony, but much more fun to play. :)

Each Time Spiral card was an homage to at least one previously printed card.

Some were simple riffs on classic cards but utilizing a mechanic brought back for this set. This card references Stone Rain, costing twice as much but presumably destroying at least twice as many lands!

@ Thaxan_Number_14:

Land Death doesn't win games so much as it makes it so your opponent can't play. It's like Stasis, Mill, and Discard. The Four Horsemen of Apocalypse Magic.

@ Henrietta:

Those mill decks are doing it wrong. I mean the kind of mill deck that uses Grindstone + Painter's Servant, or spams Archive Trap and Twincasts.

Imagine blasting 3 lands with 4 lands, manamorphose, seething song, and this.

@Henrietta: Unless, of course, someone happens to mill a card you need, like mill was ORIGINALLY INTENDED TO DO.

While presumably not a great card outside of it, this is EDH gold. It should be rated for it's use in EDH in my opinion, because that's the only format this will see play in. (with a few exceptions I'm sure.)

You can drop this pretty early with a high enough storm count to do a follow-up win in quite a few decks. My Riku can blast 6 lands turn 5 or 6 easily, especially when you use brainstorm, mystical tutor, top, explore and other small spells.

4.5 / 5 for use in the right EDH decks.
