An "echoing" effect that can be used on basics is ensured to be fun.

Use this card with Prince of Thralls. Then if you happen to destroy your own lands you have a good chance of getting your opponents to replace them.

Strategy? Here's your strategy: Blow crap up until someone dies. Great if your playgroup is heavy on basics and you are trying to get them to quit. Land destruction is FAR more annoying than countermagic.

HAHA, all your land is dead, my former magic opponent... destroying land is so lame.

Absolutely hilarious until you realize that you just killed the game. Still, even though land destruction may be infinitely annoying to play against, it seems pretty fun to be the one playing the land destruction deck yourself. Excellent card, and an absolute bomb against mono-colored decks.

Not as useful as it seems for a 6 CMC and the chance that you'll be forced to kill off your own land as well

This card is amazing scoop material. more than half the people I pull this out on for the first time give up then and there.

Oh, oh wow. This would be terrible in my deck, but I'm putting it in anyway for the flavortext alone.

I run land destruction in one of my decks. It's pretty fun to play with if I can get it going. Not for the opponents though.
Another reason to use Snow Covered Mountain. That is, until people catch on. EDIT; Huh. Looks more like the mage is casting Upheaval.

I dislike land destruction as much as the next person -- nothing worse than having someone use a strip mine on your best land in the first few turns to completely stall you, but some decks need to have land destroyed. You either take out the Emeria, the Sky Ruin, or you run this and take out all the plains, and I've had opponents with a full set of four Emerias on the board. The same is true for a number of cards that revolve around how many lands you have, and most of them are mono-colored decks, especially green (turn all your forests into 2/2s, or creatures whose power/toughness is dependent on forest count). Wake of Destruction is absolutely necessary and fair in these cases.
I have searched for the words "Non-Basic" and I haven't found them. o_o

Thats... not how this card works. Good to know you and your friend were both equally bad at magic to lose at the same time though.

This was stronger back when dual lands counted as the name of two different lands, before lands got types and they were errataed to just count as types.

I run this with it could be a 1 hit KO.

10/10 on a flavor standpoint, but once it comes into play you probably have already won the game from something else.
In a theoretical world where mono-red decks want to stall for a good half dozen turns and don't have any massive burn to rely on, this would be great. As it is, it's pretty much a Johnny card only. But GOOD GOD what a fun card it is.

Actually I'm gonna go repost this on Stone Rain instead.
NO MORE VOMITING LANDS ON THE BATTLEFIELD, BUB.
It's good to have answers to anything!
