Similiar stats would be acceptable on a red or blue creature. But we expect more from green.

They say their body is weak compared to those of kami, but I think kamigawa's spirits averaged in like 2/2.

@BaneslayerKirby But they're not here to eradicate some Hana Kamis or Rusalkas... they're here to slay that Kuro, Pitlord.

It's the basic better-than-Hill Giant that green deserves, but not the one it needs right now.

@Paolino: Durkwood Boars costs and is crap. This costs and is underwhelming. Yeah, the Boars really are superior aren't they?

These guys were great in Kamigawa limited. The uncommon and common rarities were stuffed with little spirits with tricky abilities. So instead of taking part in that nonsense you used this guy to smash face.

These guys were house in Kamigawa limited. The only better common was Kitsune Blademaster.
This was also in a set with Sakura-Tribe Elder at common, and a handful of other cheap mana accelerators, so these monks were coming out turn 3.

Dunno why everybody's hating. These guys are awesome. They were bigger than most other commons in their environment, so it was very hard to block these guys favorably. Plus, their cost/size ratio would have been fine even in a stronger limited environment. Not spectacular, but whatever. And to top it all off, they're really cool and flavorful.
They do kinda look like really buff corpses, though.
