This + Pendrel Mist = Creature Lock, add Mana Web and its Game Lock. I love it 5/5

This card is THE centerpiece to my BlueWhite control deck. My brother and my buddies say when I pull out that deck that if I play it, they won't even play with me hahaha. I use two propaganda's (only because I don't know anyone with anymore to get), Blinding Angel, Abeyance, Isochron Scepter, Counterspell, Equilibrium, and a bunch of other good stuff. It's so much fun but my friends don't really like it haha.

Is Volrath flipping Karn off?

I personally see Collective Restraint played a lot more often. With the amount of multicolor decks these days, it usually costs the opp. at least 3 per creature by the time it gets out. Still, Propaganda is cheaper, and less vulnerable to those lands being removed.

I love card effects like this, Ghostly Prison, and Windborn Muse, but I don't exactly get the flavor of what is causing the attacking differences. For once I can say, "oh well, I like the card enough not to care." Though I am glad that modern sets don't require every card to fit in with the story. It allows for some more varied, and often better, art and flavor text.

Also, as much as I love cards like this, your opponents will certainly not enjoy it. They can sadly encourage people to never want to play with you again if you use them too often.

I love the flavor text. As far as Magic's characters go, Volrath was pretty cool.

They really need to reprint this. Or at least make an updated version, like it costs 4 to play and the opponent has to pay 3 but it only hits creatures with infect.

One of my all time favorite blue cards, run 4 of these in my old mono-blue control deck, buys me so much time I can just screw around for like 9 turns and then play anything I want.

I run four of these in a R/U control/burn deck with some Eldrazi, and two or three do enough to hold the marauding hordes at bay while I bank up the land and Eldrazi spawn to get some big creatures or burn out. Without small, cheap creatures to defend in early turns, Propaganda is invaluable.

@EvilCleavage: I wouldn't want to play any deck with Isochron Scepter and Counterspell either.

I had a deck with this and Pendrill Mists, but surprisingly, even with Winter Orb stacked on top, people could routinely get out a large enough creature and slowly eek their way back manawise. Because my win-con was so slow it didn't work well but it was fun torturing *everyone.*
