4/5. A solid creature buff. Basically permanent colorless firebreathing. Amazing with Double Strike or any kind of evasion effect. The fact this card now uses counters makes it great with effects like Gilder Barin.

Normally I hate power-only powerups, but this one could be useful.

This card reminds me of that chaos space marine quote about what it's like being a servant of chaos: "It is as though a thousand mouths cry out in pain."
On something with regen, this is extremely effective.

God, I remember how broken this seemed when it was first printed.
Over time I've come to love the card like a brother.

I like using this with either infect or shadow. now that Phyresis is out, it can be both.

The creature enchanted by this gets chump-blocked, I'd rather have Howl from Beyond or Hatred. It could be fun with shadow or trample, though.

Looks like Crovax is making a little 'Endless Cream' in the art...

This deserves a reprint to showcase the ridiculous new wording.

I love the Oracle wording. If anything, the presence of "scream counters" makes this card even more badass.

Very interesting choice to change the wording, I guess at the time, it made sense, but there was no reason why. This did change how the card works though

The scream counters make this card so playable in a Proliferate deck. Gotta dig out my playset now.

I don't get it. Enchanted creature becomes stronger due to being made to scream in everlasting pain?
Also for some reason "scream counters" literally made me laugh out loud. All Hallow's Eve also uses scream counters.

I really do love this card. I used to put it on Volrath the Fallen for epic flavourness, but he always gets blocked anyway (if your opponent reads him anyway...).
Though now, I'm considering moving it to my BRG deck, and sticking it on the Hellkite Overlordfor an easy win, or for super high powah I'll put it on the eel dragon himself (Vaevictis Asmadi).

Now it has counters, NOW YOU HAVE PROLIFERATE! Scream away, Crovax, Scream away.

For any of you confused about the Oracle addition of counters, it has to do with an area of the rules that got clarified and cleaned up after the printing.
"X" and "Y" and other variables are only remembered by the game while the spell is on the stack, so as soon as the permanent finishes entering the battlefield they might as well be set to 0. Hence, the conversion of X into something the game keeps track of on permanents.

I think you need to read the text of Vorel of the Hull Clade again. He's not too fond of enchantments (and, thus aura's).
