Hilarious art and popular culture references are surely missing in magic these days, now only "cool" cuts it.

I always loved playing this guy in my "big mana" deck and consequently causing my opponent to kill him, or loose 3+ lands. I miss cards like basalt monoliths and thran dynamo.

This card is worthy of a 5/5 for the flavor alone, not to mention I have enjoyed pouring my stores of mana into their ability to wipe out my opponent's lands.

Something seems so incredibly wrong about the phrase "destroy X target lands".

@Japicx, there is nothing wrong with destroy x lands. I wrated this a 0.5 because double X (XX) means you have ot pay X twice

This in an elf deck will pretty much will clean out their lands. I rate it a 4, because typically one has to build the deck around it since it costs 2 mana a land you destroy + 1. Destroying 4 lands takes 9 mana. That being the case though, an elf deck can typically pull it off nice.

@Ignasier: I don't know if I agree about hilarious art and flavour being entirely missing, but there is certainly less of it than there used to be.

The actual pop culture reference, by the way, is to the painting American Gothic. (just in case anybody didn't know and was curious)

It's not cheap, but mass land destruction is not something you see very much any more - never mind in the uncommon slot!

Green/Red anyone? The art on this card is awesome. 5/5

I need this for my LD deck. It's going to replace Implode and Icefall in the "reusable/cantrip" slot.

funny art, flavor text, and a usable abilitiy. this is what I like to see in old cards!

My first thought was Training Grounds, maybe Mimic Vat too? Although with Mimic Vat alone, you'd have to pump in {6} mana to destroy one target land (at instant speed though!) I'm sure there are ways to use this effectively.

Orcs need to make a serious comeback in MAGIC.

I'm not convinced this isn't an unglued card that fell into the wrong design file.

Braid of Fire and no mana burn means this just got a whole lot better. For your reference, here's a cost chart for this card's ability:

Destroy 1 land: 2Red (equal to Stone Rain)
Destroy 2 lands: 4Red
Destroy 3 lands: 6Red
Destroy 4 lands: 8Red
Destroy 5 lands: 10Red
Destroy 6 lands: 12Red
Destroy 7 lands: 14Red
Destroy 8 lands: 16Red
Destroy 9 lands: 18Red
Destroy 10 lands: 20Red

As you can see, this is not bad in the lower end, but can get quite costly.

I love the idea of destroying X target lands. Good cost too, {2} per land plus a {R} start up cost. Sure it can get expensive, but the more lands you destroy, the better than an equal number of stone rains it is.

Kind of ridiculous, actually.

Rosheen Meanderer says hi, if you want to lose all your friends. Still debating whether to include this one in my Rosheen EDH, if someone else nukes my colour fixing I might just snap and do it >_>

Cloudpost goes really well with this card. 4 Cloutposts, 1 Mountain, and this card = 8 lands gone

They hang out with the mana making elvish green batteries for some reason. Great flavor.

I believe this is the last new Orc ever printed with a black border.
