Check out the one from Antiquities. They went from a total of 53 clustered words to a simplified 6. I love this kinda stuff. Just how much detail they went into about what 'sacrificing' something had to deal with. lol the rule book didn't even have that much detail.

@ krypt: it was printed right before Mirrodin. of course they couldn't make it common when 1/3 of the enviroment was about to be artifacts.

Actually, the reason it was printed at rare wasn't Mirrodin approaching (that was the reason it was reprinted at all), it was because the card's EFFECT was not un/common worthy. Until Etherium Astrolabe, anyway.
This can be very nasty with Puppet Conjurer. For , by turn 4, you can be drawing an additional card each turn. Because it's an instant effect, you could do all of that on your opponent's turn, including chump blocking with the homunculus token and then saccing it in response. Haha!

Keep in mind that Antiquities was artifact-based as well. And being rare doesn't stop players from obtaining it. Being rare just makes it more annoying to get.
