Love this little djinn. Can't believe no one's commented on her. She's great for aggro. Flying, 2/2 body and only one black mana in the cc. What's not to love?

kinda hard to appreciate cards like this in black nowadays when for one more mana you could play vampire nighthawk

While Vampire Nighthawk is an amazing card, people are looking at this wrong. A 2/2 flier for 2 is amazing, and the downside isn't that bad in a color known for creating suicide decks.

More importantly, any number of things will fix this Vampiric Link comes to mind. Or just deal with it, play this turn two, turn three play the Nighthawk and turn four swing for 4 and net 1 life.

Now if it cost the same as the Nighthawk, it would be almost worthless.

Anyway, this is a good card. Im convinced that anyone who votes it down simply hasnt played with it.

Yeah cos this little critter is white right? Might as well say White Knight is strictly better

While new fangled cards like Vampire Nighthawk is superior, this was the one of the few options black had for a low cost flying beater. The drawback is minor cos Black likes to hit itself for ways to win the game

used to run them back in 98 alongside erg raiders

still good, even by today's standards..can be eqquipped with a jitte to offset the life loss..

and if he's starting to become a nuisance, you can get rid of it with innocent blood or a flashbacked cabal therapy..

though nowadays, i'd rather run bitterblossom..

Juzam Djinn has the same penalty, but it takes 5 turns for it to damage you as much as one attack, while this one's penalty will equal it's combat damage in only 2 turns. Meh.

No use in today's environment, but a decent deal in its day. Black didn't get cheap, efficient flyers back in the day, so paying 1 life when you were hitting for 2 was a pretty good deal.

Not that there weren't still better creatures back in the day, but still. Saw play at a lot of kitchen sinks, I'm sure.
