Reminds me more of those statue-thingies from Time Spiral. you know. How they turn into older, powerful cards.

I thought it was cool.

A little expensive to run all the time, but a fun and annoying card

Kinda silly that it's not always a creature... that ability is usually for protection from creature removal but indestructibilty makes it into a punishing aspect, requiring extra to make it useful again.

I like to use cards like this with Proteus Staff to get out one of a couple creatures in the whole deck like Progenitus or a Darksteel Colossus to beat down my opponent.

Reusable Polymorph target?

@Paleopaladin: It won't work, since it won't be entering the battlefield.

Krypt, that would cost seven mana a pop... Plus two for the first time.

@Hivis_of_the_Scale: MasterOfEfherium Has Mindslavered Me. Too Bad This Dies To Removal!

WHAT IF THIS GUY GETS ANY +1/+1 COUNTERS WHILE IT'S A CREATURE? (EG. FROM MODULARS) DO COUNTERS STAY ON HIM WHEN HE BECOMES A CREATURE NEXT TIME? PLS. HELP

As a dual duty card, this isn't too bad. I'm going to pair these with Phylactery Lich, since the cost to play these, is in the proper turn order for the Lich's cost. Make these creatures only if need be really. This is going to be in a Zombie deck.

@nevenshinko
I don't believe the will stay. Since +1/+1 counters go on creatures. I'd imagine they would fall off as a state based action.

What if it said "(3): Darksteel Brute gets +2/+2 and becomes an artifact creature until end of turn"? That might be fun...

That aside, he's at least a pay-three reusable chumper. I'm sure there are uses for him out there, somewhere. Indestructibility on anything just begs to be planned around by some player or another.

EDIT: To answer nevenshinko and Deadling, as long as a permanent remains on the battlefield, no matter what kind of permanent it is, things like counters and enchantments remain attached to them. The only time it matters is when you are putting said things on. You could turn your Mutavault into a creature, then stick an aura on it, and the aura would stay on even when the vault goes back to being just a land. Hope that helps!
