Arguable better than Beast of Burden, depends on whether you consider a green card with cmc 5 and static p/t to be more powerful than a colorless one with cmc 6 and alternating power. Yet since the latter one is dropping a turn later, can be shattered and also gets weakened whenever it kills a creature, i prefer this beetle, at least in a green deck.

If you already have a bunch of creaures, I'd rather play Overrun than have one giant creature.

I guess the idea is that he stays buff after you drop a Firespout or whatnot....
I hope people see this; since most of the comments on this card is based on having more creatures on your side of the field. Each creature counts, even if they are under your opponent's control. Therefore, cards like Alliance of Arms (even better in multiple player), Hunted Phantasm, and Hunted Troll can increase this card's power greatly. Also, unlike Beast of Burden, its +1/+1 counters stay on it when everything else is dead. Huge combo potential! 3.5/5

I can't read this card without imagining this beetle showing up half-drunk in a cheap tuxedo to ruin somebody's high school prom.
